just now i was about to turn right into my destination,so i slowed down signalled and check the opposite lane...

after which i started to turn right...

then this IDOIT van driver behind me horned me...

apparently he wanted to overtake me...

wth right...i signalled and slowed down and he wants to overtake me while i was about to make a right turn...

he still has the cheek to stare at me...

i am very sure i signalled cause after after he horned i got look down and my right signal is still on...

basket should have stopped my bike and scolded him...

this is why my next project is rear mounted camera(already in the pipeline)...

Just now, same kind of experience with two car drivers:

- the first one going into the major road, barely slows down and just goes into it. Of course i was on the lane he went into. I know the area pretty well now so I always watch out for the moron coming in without checking, but this guy went along. Very tiny car, but still.. I'm sure they will kill a rider there some day. No car ever checks..

 

- 5min later, taking off at a red light. Smoothly going into the lane after the junction, and this guy driving a big car on the lane on my left tries to bully me out of my lane to let him through. basically he's in his lane, he signals and goes into mine. if his car could talk to my bike it would say "hey, go over there let me through this is my road!". Unbelievable. The guy is driving with wife and kids at the back some more. I think even after I horned he probably thinks he didn't do anything wrong, what I'm riding a bike, I'm supposed to be able to swerve and ride on the dotted line between lane, yeah ?

 

For every considerate driver that slows down, patiently awaits his turn or is respectful to others on the road, there's 50 idiots who think they're driving by themselves.

 

I don;t know how dispatch riders do it.. can you imagine..this stuff 8h a day, all sorts of moronic behaviors ? So stressful...

Do you mean as a purpose for the trip, just do a trip to Gelang Patah or as a pit-stop ?

 

Gelang Patah rest area is a pitstop for all traveller before long journey. Itz also the only nearest fuel station in the area for those who need alittle fuel topup before long journey.

Hmm.. I see now looking at the map.. I was hoping to take the small roads on the left hand side, and get to GP by the J4 doing the detour by the left.

Isn't there a petrol station or hawker / makan place right around Kampung Ladang ? Or we could aim for GP but everyone needs to have enough petrol in their bikes to manage through J4...which is about 35km detour.

we are just letting off some steam here...

like i share long time back after i took up riding, i have become safer driver...

knowing what riders will do and anticipate their movements and also same for the drivers...

but what i can't stand are those inconsiderate and reckless drivers both when i am driving or riding...

Singapore Pulsarians, let's go to A&W !

 

BTMO APRIL 2011

Date: Sunday 17th April

When : 08:45 AM

Where: SPC Petrol Station @ 16, Tuas Road

Contact Number: Will be given to all participants later

 

Itinerary :

 

08:30 - Bikes start arriving at the meeting point, SPC Tuas

08:45 - Briefing on convoy riding, safety tips, itinerary and buddying experienced riders with new riders

09:15-30 - Take off to SG customs

10:00 - Gathering after MY customs (1), check everyone is here and all OK

10:15 - Breakfast stop (2)

11:00 - Take off to the Recreational Forest through roads J4, J7, 5, J113 (3)

12:00 - Arrival at Recreational Forest, break and photo shoot

12:30 - Take off

13:00 - Lunch at A&W Bukit Indah (4)

14:00 - Take off to SG

14:30 - Gathering after SG customs to say bye

 

(1) The first bike to clear MY customs will stop in a place where we can gather all bikes without causing inconvenience to the traffic. If you know an exact spot, please share.

We will stop to pump petrol, if you know of a station, please share as well

(2) TBA

(3) We will take as many scenic routes as we can, and if we find a nice kampong or place we can stop a few minutes to take pix.

(4) There's a shopping center there if some of you want to do some shopping

 

Things to bring:

 

- Passport

- MYR and SGD

- Touch N Go card if you have it, otherwise, you'll buy it at the MY customs

- Spare bike key

- Spare spark plugs

- Raincoat

- Sunglasses

- Bike insurance and road tax (photocopies will do, or PDF/image loaded on your cell)

- Protective gear: Full face helmet, protective jacket and gloves, Riding pants or knee guards, riding boots.

- If you don't have all the above, please bring at least: full covered shoes, jeans, denim or leather jacket, full face helmet, some sort of gloves.

- Bike lock or disc lock

 

I will bring a first aid kit. If you have one, feel free to bring it as well.

 

 

Things to check before joining the trip :

 

- Bike oil level

- Brakes

- Tyres (air + condition)

- Lights

- Mirrors

- If close to the servicing date of the bike, just do it before the trip

- Get enough rest and sleep the night before

 

Important info :

 

 

- Please do not be late. The schedule is easy to enjoy fully if everyone participates in keeping it. Plan your ride to Tuas in advance, to know how long it will take you to reach the meeting point. If you are late, message the contact number (try not to call as we could be riding at that time). We will wait for late comers, but please consider that those who get to the meeting point on time will have to wait longer..

 

- If you have never been to Malaysia, or through the second link customs, please let us know when registering, it will help us be even more supportive to make this a great experience for you

 

- Leave the Pulsar Stunt Mania tricks at home that morning The more the ride is done as a team, the more enjoyable it will be, so we don't have to worry about each other speeding, overtaking or getting in trouble on the road in any way. We ride as a team.

 

- Don't hesitate to stop or slow down at anytime during the ride. if you feel tired or if you need to wear your sunglasses, or if you have a minor problem with the bike, just stop and don;t worry, the convoy will stop too and help. Don't hesitate to ask questions, to raise concerns, there's no stupid question or remark, sometimes asking makes you feel more comfortable for the rest of the trip

I need the help of 2 people to proofread some FAQ answers on the future website of our team, and to help me search the past 605 pages for answers and precise information on some topics relevant to our bikes.

This website will at first be a few pages to present our team and our bike, to post BTMO and BTWO information and to act as a promotional mean for our group to gather more riders.

An specific section of the website will be dedicated to hosting these FAQ, which will help us share the knowledge we have gathered on this forum, and make it available to all.

I attached a compilation of FAQ that we started working on last year but never really finished. We would go from there and this time finish it.

 

I need someone who's either comfortable writing in proper English or able to find and hunt for specific information from the 605 pages. If you can do both, it's even better.

You will need to be committed until this project is finished, and it will require your attention a few times a week (maybe every 2 days ?).

This role is perfect for you if :

 

- you have a lot of knowledge you want to share and you feel confident about what you know on our Pulsars

- you're a newbie who wants to know his bike and discover useful info bout it

- you are bored out of your mind and need something to occupy you

- you want to help

 

I can't manage it if there's 10 of us participating, so 3 is the max of people I think to make this easy to drive to a result.

I've started on something but it's going very slowly and I could use some help.

We need mostly commitment and motivation from the volunteers, we can then help each other in this small 3 people team to get the work done the best way possible.

So don't be shy, if you feel like helping, raise your hand Post here, or PM me / talk to me about it when you see me.

 

On another note, the logo/t-shirt design project is in progress, I have sent another round of requirements and details to some designers with the recent survey we did. I expect it will take 2-3 weeks to get the logo right, and you will be all consulted at each step (sketching, colors etc..) to give feedback on what is done by the designer.

I have approached T-Shirt printing companies in Singapore and I believe I have now a good idea of the prices and delays. It will take about 2-3 weeks or less to get the t-shirts done once we have the logo we want. Before the logo goes to print, a survey will be done to know your t-shirt size, your preference on the type of Polo you want and the color of the polo.
