Just wondering how much your Pulsar takes you on one full tank? Lets take 180cc Pulsar, a full tank, how many kilometres till you hit the reserve? (not till you dry the tank empty!)

for mine,a 180cc, it took me around 450km den hit reserve. dat time i top up full using caltex 97 in jb. dis fuel burns slow, but a bit dirty. well i mention dis a few threads waaaayy back..... so , it should be around 400+km i think. dunno abt others.

usually i hit reserve at 710-750km depends on riding style n kind of road mostly travelled. reserve i tried b4 travelling til 86.3km.

Isn't 450km for full tank so low?

 

A full tank will have at least 17 Litres (without accounting reserve), and if we take 450Km, the mileage is just 27Kmpl !!!

no lah.. if throttle all the way etc the fuel consumption will be affected.. thus the amt. normally at least can hit 600km and above.i now near full tank travelled 470km still got near half tank. lol. i only scared so long liao the fuel lau hong ( like ciggies.. err become not so concentrated??? lol i dunno how to explain lah.. lol )

really?? ic.. den something is definitly wrong with my bike....

 

yala , i just did some calculations, which means i hit reserve at around 12 litres!!! which means i got 5 litres extra!! excluding 2 litres which is reserve of cos. dat makes a total of 19 litres. damn!!!

 

anywayyaazz. usualy i wack 100 above wen going home, so basicaly it effects my mileage.

mine now 600km gonna hit reserve soon le.. but everytime i top up onli abt 13 liters den like full already lehs.. why ahs?

Well, I too got confused with your explanation !!! :-))

 

haha make it a official explaination...

 

 

For all bikes like pulsar itself, the fuel consumption is affect by a number of things... Eg: size of tires, hard or gentle throttling, tuning etc... throttling is the only reaction based out of the few examples i gave.. So hard throttling means when u see green light. u full throttle the bike to accelerate a whole load faster than other cars, and continue to hit full speed u want to achieve. This will cause more fuel to be used.

 

Gentle throttling will be like u increase ur turning of the throttle slowly and change gears at the acceptable rpm u need to slowly achieve ur desired speed. This will help u save more fuel.

 

So adding on to with better tuning, smaller tires (will cause tires to have less contact with the floor so ur speed will go faster, bike lighter) plus a load of other factors, u will get better consumption. ^^

 

So not all will get the same fuel consumption. So basically so many long winded stuff, the answer to ur question is that the average fuel consumption for pulsar can be safely put as 45km/l average
