Let me explain to u Y anything other than crank start ur bike MAY cos ur CDI to go haywire.

 

the starter motor of pulsar consumes a calculated amount of Amp to turn the motor.

the battery has a stable "DC" wave that supplies to the motor.

The stator coils doesnt. it give a "AC" unfiltered wave. this wave MAY kick into ur rectifier and continues its journey to ur CDI.

So another reminder. LAst resort to start ur bike in the non-conventional way.

i clean once every 2 months.. clean with diesel.... but becos mine got cover so not very dirty... but urs p200 will different liao

and for the mileage... is it the same as 180 cc??

as I did mentined b4, my P200 is not a perfect bike but it's a wonderful bike on it's own characteristic. :thumb:

i try to do it monthly. with kerosene/diesel, a small paint brush and a small bowl.

let me tell u, all bikes have problems of their own. its how u handle it. if u say pulsar or any other bikes have their 'problems' den y in Gods name do they sell their bikes? remember dat theres pros n cons 4 evry bike. i could b wrong, who knows but dis is base on my experience. it depends on ur luck also la.. anywhoo... 4 p200,buy first hand if u wanna keep long2. ders no 2nd hand selling anyway.. take my pulsar exia 00(p180) 4 example, my handlebar wobbles alot. i was anoyed at first, went 2 UM 2 find a solution but none can b found. as month pass by, i got used 2 it. no prob 4 me.

 

feel free 2 ask any pulsar riders around, honestly, im not dat expert on pulsar myself but hey who cares? no one gets hurt nothing gets harm.

Yea i went back to UM last sat to repari my engine-dying problem and they changed my CDI, and my O rings... basically stripped my engine apart. But when i went back the problem occured once again. So i guess we can conclude it as our bikes have got character. Its just a matter if you can get used to it. If not for this ONE major problem i'll probably be 100% happy.

I may even consider keeping it when i purchase my 2A bike in a years time.

Problem : Handle Bar wobble

 

Possible solution :

 

1) Tire air presure is too high - release some air

 

2) the handbar core bearing is too lose - go back UM and ask them adjust

 

3) Due to back box - purchase a heavy balancer (16 buck at LAB)

Problem: Inconstancy firing of spark plug

 

Symptom : When moving.. the bike will sudden choke, shake and died off... cannot restart . after sometime... bike can start again... than happen again...

(provided there is fuel in your tank)

 

Reason : there is no constancy supply of electric current

 

Solution: 1) change CDI

2) Change stator coil/ magnetic coil

 

Have the mech to check if there is current going thru the stator coil/magnetic coil, before changing the CDI.

 

Above problem onli happen if there is nothin wrong with your fuel or carb.

FYI

 

Pulsar do not inccur much problem unless it not taken care of. Try to follow the user Manuel for how to maintenance the bike. Try to go back to UM for servicing to ensure you bike is in proper condition.

 

 

Any unhappiness with the mech or the problem is not solved, look for Johnny or Michael to log a complaint. Do prepare to leave your bike over night for a 101% check.

 

Try not to keep any problem or unhappiness inside, end of the day is your bike that suffer.

Singapore Bajaj Team DIY Session (Hazard Light)

 

 

Date : 21th DEC 08

 

Time : 11AM to estimate 4pm

As there is a growing number of new member, It time for a next DIY session for hazard. Hazard is a essential thing we need on the road. the wiring is simple and yet doesn't void the warranty of the bike as no orignal cable is being touched.

 

For our beloved Pulsar, Hazard light that common done by other workshop, need to on the switch followed by signal light inorder to activate the hazard light. which is not ideal in any way. The one that we'll be installing is direct. Hazard light can be activate thru only one switch.

 

We need to know how many member want to fix this hazard light inorder to confirm the date and location. Also, our R&D need to go for purchase the part needed. P180 and P200 is welcome.

 

This is a non-profit DIY session. The aim is to equip our pulsar to have a better safety equipment when on the road.
