Mersing trip was a blast. Haha. :cheeky:

Super big thank you to the kind folks that helped me with first aid, enduring the mosquitoes and hunger while waiting for the tow truck (van), and risking a scary night ride back from Malaysia.

Thanks Gaban, Lanzer, O'Ren, Phantom Hellfire and the two lovely lady pillion riders!

I'm back at home now. No fractures so it's just a flesh wound. Doc stitched up the cute little hole and I should be fine after it heals. However the pain was so bad at one point I almost puked and hands went numb. wtf.

To those wondering what happened. Basically I went off the road to avoid hitting a car that jammed brake and blocked off the road shoulder. Lost control of the bike after that.

Now back to sleep... zzz...

rest well bro. did u get my sms?

wad r ur views on alarms btw.. how do they work and do they really help in crime prevention?

wad is the cheapest brand of alarms tt is good? how do alarms work?

Like many many other riders, I installed a SPY ALARM on my bike. It's around $120-140 at Motoworld installation included. It works great and has a micro wave function that allows it to go off when someone is staying close to the bike (but I don't use it unless I'm parked in an isolated area).

I think it's a very deterrent, and will scare/annoy potential thieves. It also lets people know when you park somewhere that the bike won't be an easy target - sometimes (maybe not in SG but overseas) when you park, thieves might be watching you and already plotting an evil attempt to separate you from your pupu: if they see you turn the alarm ON it might be they decide to steal another bike, easier prey.

The alarm works with a sensor that will either make the alarm go off when someone is close to it,. or more generally when the bike experiences a "shock". It will also go off when the engine is started or ignition ON and the alarm not disengaged. For the "shock" it will react if someone sits on it, moves the handle bar aggressively or tap/hits the bike. It doesn't go off if you put a helmet on the bike, but that I think can be tweaked on some alarms.

The TWO WAY SPY alarm has a good range (I can activate/deactivate the alarm from my apt when the bike is parked on the ground floor - I live on the 12th floor). It comes with two remotes in case you loose one, and it's very reliable. I've been using it for several months now and I'm happy with it, it does the job of deterring and sending the message that the bike has some kind of protection. And I thought the price was ok, good range for the value.

Bajaj Auto International Holdings (BAIHBV), a Netherlands-based wholly-owned subsidiary of Bajaj Auto, has raised its stake in KTM Power Sports in an attempt to tighten its grip on Europe’s second-largest power sports bike manufacturer. India’s second-largest motorcycle maker on Wednesday purchased 2.44 lakh shares in KTM, taking the total shareholding to 38.09% from 35.7%. In April this year, Bajaj Auto had raised its shareholding in KTM to 35.7% from 31.9%.

Bajaj Auto has been steadily increasing its stake in KTM from 14.5% in 2007. “The driving force in KTM has been the brand fit and the non-over-lapping strategy,” said S Ravikumar, Senior VP Business Development & Assurance, Bajaj Auto.

Bajaj Auto is the second-largest shareholder in KTM. The largest shareholders — Stefan Pierer and Rudolf Knuenz hold more than 51%. Bajaj Auto and KTM are working on joint development projects. The first of the co-developed products KTM Duke 125 will hit the European market in 2011. The launch of a KTM product suitable for India is planned in the second half of 2011, the company said in a statement. The Austrian bike manufacturer also wants to co-develop entry level bikes in association with Bajaj for the European market.

The KTM bikes, Duke and RR, will be assembled at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan facility. Till date, Bajaj Auto has invested around Rs 800 crore for its shareholding in KTM. Recently KTM PS reported results for their fiscal year ended August 31, 2010 returning to profits despite difficult market conditions, on the back of good market acceptance of their new Motocross range and strong cost control measures. Margins stood at about 12% and the profit after tax at e11.9 million.

Hi,

Need help with the questions below please.

I got bullet bikeViz lights and linked to the ModPod (see diagram here ).

Now if I hook this to the battery obviously the lights will always be ON even when the bike is OFF. So I need to hook them so they only turn on when I start the bike (like the headlight, tail light etc).

Or I could use a switch.

1. Can someone please explain where I should tap into so the lights only light up when the ignition is ON ?

2. I already have hazard lights I think tapping into something at the back of the bike (brown wire), is it ok to add more tapping ?

Please try to either take a photo or detail where I can find the right wires to tap into, what colors they are, how many and how to tap into if there is not connector already there.

3. If I want to use a switch to only turn these lights when I want, where should I install it on the diagram ?

4. Since I already have hazard lights with a switch, would it make sense to use a switch box to have everything at the same place :

you can try tapping the lights to the ignition

for the switch wise

maybe can go down UM ask them to tap to your headlights

so when you start your bike your lights will come on with your headlight

i confirm will get the led spot/flood lights

but not getting them soon

low on $$$ at the moment...

btw the switch box looks nice

but seems like not sold in singapore right

SPY 2 way alarm is quite good

but i think motoworld is no longer bringing in the alarm

they are now bringing in another brand of alarm

you can try getting 2nd hand ones in the forums

for the range it is good for open space

like what o'ren said if you park on the ground floor of the block and up still can reach

but for my case my mscp is shared among a few blks

and the 1st floor is somewhat like a basment due to the slopes around the car park and i live about 3 min to the car park

all the concrete + i stay 13 floor up = no reception for my remote if i park at the 1st floor("basement") of my mscp

happened once that my alarm went off and i did not know cause my remote nv indicate and the police called me at 2am+

say that someone complained of alarm ringing since 8pm+

How to tap into the ignition or the headlights ? I don't necessarily want to go to a shop if I can do it by myself. From the hazard lights installation all this didn't seem very hard. So I just need to understand where exactly I should insert the wires..

I have no idea which are the headlight or ignition wires..
