hi everyone, new rider here, just got my 2B and most of my friends told me to get a pulsar or kupkia but prefer the former.

just wanna enquire all the pros here

-How much is a new 180 and a new 200 machine? Where is the showroom or shop?

-Is the 200 as fuel efficient as the 180??

-Finally, is there anyone who wants to sell their pulsar? haha

Thanks you all in advance for the help!

welcome to the thread

machine price for new 180 UG4 should be around $4k+ and 200 near $5k or $5k+

OTR need to add in insurance, road tax etc

best is for you to go down or call UM to check out

their showroom/service centre is at Blk 1008 Bukit Merah Lane 3 Tel: (65) 6278 9928

easy to find the showroom

once you reach there look out for a huge sign board which writes bajaj show room and service centre

the 180 & 200 FC is about the same

for 2nd hand pulsar do look around in the garage sale section or can drop by UM also they do have some for sale

and there is also the new pulsar 135LS

btw what is your budget?

Hello jhjh1 I'm also new, I'm riding a P200 very fuel efficient can travel at 30+ - 40+/l. Normally i clock abt 550km before reserve, full tank abt 15L. Show room at bukit merah lane 3 shop name is Universal Motor, look for chris. I last heard a P200 is 5K+ brand new machine price. Hope it helps.

Just now my bike came to reserve. This time my bike full tank to reserve has hit 775 kms:clap::clap: Earlier it used to come to reserve at 710-720. The extra mileage is due to following:

1)Last time I filled up to the brim with very just enough space for the lid to go in, infact on the main stand it was ok. But on side stand the lid was actually getting wet with petrol :cheeky:

2)The change to smaller rear sprocket.

Tomorrow morning heading to JB for another top up.

What's ur personal opinion? do u think i should get a new bike and pay installments? Old bike always need servicing right?

P200 almost impossible to below 2k, since P200 is not that old bike. P180 you may get if it is around 4 years old. Mine I bought P180 4 yrs old for around 1.5k + spending few hundreds more to change tyres, box and other servicing. Old bike has downside that you may be lucky to get a well maintained bike or may be unlucky and get a screwed up bike. New bike is tension free. If you are a completely new rider without much knowledge about bikes, may be better to buy a new bike if you can afford it.

I would always buy an older bike because a 4 yr old bike costs about 1/3 the price of brand new bike and you can sell it also after couple of yrs and still not lose money. So from financial point of view old bikes better but nothing can please your heart more than a brand new shiny bike. So you decide :)

Changing to smaller sprocket reduces pick up, so when you are accelerating from standstill you will be slightly slower, but then again it depends on how you control your throttle and gears. If you stay at lower gear and delay gear changing you can still achieve the same pickup.

The advantage of changing to smaller sprocket is cruising at high speeds on the expressway, your RPM will be lower and ride will be smoother and you will feel as if you have added a 6th gear to the Pulsar by magic :)

If you are planning to getting bigger bike i suggest u get a cheap 2B bike and bear with it for 1 year if not u can invest on this baby and get a class 2A or 2 bike as well. Pulsar is a gd investment worth keeping.

mind post the link to the sale?

there are pros and cons for new and old bike

new bike no worries for maintenance, got warr but price ex

old bike cheaper, previous owner might have already changed some of the things that are highly recommended to change for pulsar like tires, for maintenance wise need to see how well the previous owner has taken care of the bike

another point to take note is your insurance

why not you join us at one of our unofficial meet ups then have a look and discuss and know more about the pulsar

so what is your total liter when you pump in up to the brim?

need to add the 3rd point also .... travelling along smooth highway most of the times yes will save more mileage. Reason is becos you will not have to change gear often compare to travelling along normal streets or roads which have lots of traffic stopage or hogging.

and for the 4th point ... like you have stated also .. you don't pillion often so less load on your bike will save extra mileage too.

Yala like me. 90-95% on the highway. No traffic lights, no stop n go. Worst case scenario, heavy traffic or jam.

MJ bro, Once I hit reserve then I start my journey to JB, from AMK. So by the time I reach the bunk, already half litre gone from reserve. Then I am able to fill about 17.17 Ltrs. So around 16.5 ltrs I am getting the mileage of 775 kms (Full tank to reserve turn on).
