Hi,

I'm new to this forum. Just got a Honda Slasher a couple of months back. No real issues with the engine but noticed some leakage from the front fork seal. Brought it down to a shop in Autobay (based on good things I've read in the forums), and spend $400+ to fix the front fork seal (including removal of spacers to raise the front fork), valve clearance and oil change. A week later, experienced loss of power uphill to the point that the engine stalled. Brought it back and ended up changing the fuel pump ($160). On the way home, noticed that the idle is weak, which could not sustain when I got home. Tweaked the idle knob but couldn't get the bike started over the next few days. Eventually called the shop and had the bike towed. Just collected the bike over the weekend. Could start the bike now, but feels that the idling is unstable. Would be good to get some advise from experienced riders. Cheers.

Recommended shop by forummers at autobay for cruisers? Hmmmmmm

Maybe u shld get a 2nd opinion elsewhere cos seems ure just spending money each time u go back to that shop. Speaking from experience here fyi. I know im never gg there anymore.

Yeah ... didn't want to be too specific on the name of the shop. Will go elsewhere for a second opinion if I continue to have problems. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Hi guys after nearly riding close to 10 years on my Phantom.... Finally bought a yr2000 Slasher with COE ending 2020 :D

Just passed approval from my mech that its good to go so I am starting to think of getting some nice parts to beautify it ^^

Have intention of getting Kuryakyn iso grips so just like to check if I should getting the 1" bars type ?

Also thinking of getting of matching footpegs with adaptors for metric bikes so i guess shouldnt be any compatibility problem ?

By the manual its 12 000km for both oil and filter.

Locally, Shortest change interval ive heard for shadow is 2000km. Highest, 6000km

Many do it every other oil change.

Thanks for the reply. How about tyres ?what is the appropriate tyre pressure for front and back?am on a shadow 400 with side boxes:)

Bro for tires the side wall will have indication on the recommended pressure values.

For manual recommendation, please see the attached screen shot.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410696951.954243.jpg

As cruiserian mentioned, it is best to pump according to the recommended pressure on the sidewall. i'm pumping 41, 44 psi (270, 300kPa) for front and rear tyres respectively.

Of course I trust my skills. I ride alone cos I don't trust the competency of the driver next to me.
