Thanks for sharing bro...btw any recommend in maintaining the bike ie. feq servicing etcs.:cheeky:

3.3k is a pretty good price. But check condition. If it's a super rusty and bad engine like one I saw last time then dun bother.

You can get hi-temp (must) paint and DIY spray. Any hardware shop have. Just remove whatever parts you want, use newspaper and masking tape to protect and cover parts you don't want and spray away.

Boyvin: Do take the chance to read theu the forum. You'll be able to pick up stuff here and there, then after that you'll know exactly what to ask and we can help you then :)

ccng: Maintenance is normal. 3-5k Engine oil change. Every 2 EO change, one oil filter change. Every 2 oil filter change, 1 air filter. Carb wash, brake pads and fluids, spark plugs etc. My advise is once you get the bike, bring it to a reliable mechanic to give it a once over. Spend whatever you have to can to get it done up, then monitor from there. Cos no matter how careful the previous owner is, it's better to reset and start from the beginning. As least you know your own machine better then.

You can try Rosli at Ubi Auto Bay. He's pretty good with Shadows, cruisers, or bikes for that matter. He'll be able to give your bike a poke and squeeze and then tell you what's wrong and what needs to be done.

Hello. New Shadow 400 owner from the Philippines.

Got my ride this morning. Played hooky from work so I could ride around and get familiar

with bike. Hahaha So far, its everything I expected it to be.

How do you know the real model year? Are there places in the bike that tell the date

or year of manufacture?

Thanks.

Sorry for the confusion bro and thanks for the info.

More questions, from a guy who bought his bike without an owners & parts manual.

1. Anybody have the part no. of the rear signal light and plate holder assembly?

The chrome on the plastic has chipped & cracked.

2. Also need the part no. for the electronic speedometer sensor or actuator located at

lower front wheel hub? My speedometer guage is not working.

3. How do you remove the main seat? I loosened the screw that holds the pillion seat at the rear fender but the main seat still won't lift off. I can't find any other screws for the main seat.

Thanks in advance for any help or info.

The rest can't help you there. Maybe someone else can. Is there a mechanic or aftermarket shop you can go to there?

For the seat, there's a catch. If I remember correctly, just push backwards. But then I could be wrong. Been so long, I can't remember.

Hahaha. Useless post right in the end, this one?

Hi,

After you remove the screw that holds the pillion seat at the rear fender, slide the pillon seat forward and lift up. The pillon seat should come off.

Then remove the screw that is holding down the front seat. The front seat should then be removable.

Success! Hahaha...

Finally got it off.

Hi. I'm looking for the part no. of the speedometer sensor for a Shadow ACE. Its located at the bottom of the left front fork just below the brake cylinder. A squarish black box like gadget. Its an electronic sensor that runs the speedo and digital trip meter on the tank. They call it an Actuator.

Need the part no. so I can order.

Hope you can help. I have no part manual.

Thanks.

Thanks for the link. I also found some common parts that will benefit my Shadow. The VINs can be confusing though.

I can help you when I return to Singapore in a few weeks time. For those who are in Singapore and want to help One Headlight, go to Eversuccess and ask for the parts manual. You can't take it home, so you have to take the numbers down manually.
