Hey shadow bros, can i join in, just bought a slasher and would like to restore it.

bike quite worn out due to parking in the sun. anyone care to share any info on restoration experience with any quality repair shops? I m staying in the west.

left 6 mths life so wanted to renew coe..

care to comments?

Ron Ayers has the serial numbers for Shadow 400? I found that website when I was running a Google search on some part numbers for my Shadow Aero. That was about 2 years ago

They only have the part nos. for the VT750C shadow ACE not the shadow 400.

 

But some parts for Shadow 750 ACE are compatible to the Shadow 400 ACE.

Exemptions include internal parts like pistons, piston rings etc. because

they don't carry 400cc but most of the time, they will match.

I used to order parts and accessories for my 400cc Steed using stuff from

the US VLX600 model.

 

I'm even considering ordering a 750 ACE engine on Ebay and installing

it on my 400 ACE. They say it's a perfect fit.

 

The speedometer sensor of the 750cc is the same as the 400cc so I ordered one.

ah, that explains why you went to Ron Ayers website. Shadow 750 engines (it's 745cc in case you are hoping that it's 750cc. Sorry to dash your hopes) have been around for a very long time. Won't have trouble finding spare parts too.

 

Even the intake valves and exhaust seals are the same as the African Twin too. That's the good thing about Honda. A lot of parts can be interchanged

I'm currently browsing Ebay for a 750ACE surplus engine. They have one for US$400.

 

I just ordered my new speedo sensor for US$80 from Ron Ayers. But I also saw a used but complete speedometer set with guages, brackets and sensors etc. that was selling for just US$90!

 

I keep thinking, did I order too fast? I remember telling my mechanic: "That better be the right part or else I'll ring your neck!" Hahahaha

He's got great parts for cruisers at half of US prices. I guess because they're made in

China or are over-runs maybe? I might be in HK in March and I'd really like to shop for accessories.

 

Hope to get an address or contact number? I emailed him but all I got was a computer generated response and I don't understand Chinese.

I think it means Odometer or tripmeter. It tells you how many kms. you've

travelled. If you reset it, it'll tell you how many kms. you've travelled today.

nono, im holding 2b only, yet t up 2a..

id be getting a shadow ace whn i get my 2a thou, my neighbour's ride currently. transfering t my name with insurance upon completing 2a. =D

My ride is currently in the paint shop for a makeover. Changed the color to candy orange and pearl white. Also re-chromed some parts. I'll post pictures soon.
