... So many nicely customized bike there! Wonder if SG has that much?

 

I'm sure there a many cruisers in SG. All you need is to seriously organize an eyeball or meet-up. If it's planned well, they will come.

Ours was planned in only 3 weeks. Heavy posting on the local internet bike sites and phone calls to club presidents.

There are such bikes in singapore.. But u wil not really see on the roads ;D few years back there's a bike fest at suntec city.. all the illegal mods all out ;D

It is just a normal ACE with no fanciful mods.

 

Bike is underutilized under my ownership.

 

No plans for a new ride for the time being. :)

Finally decided to drop by Rosli today for an overdue wear&tear servicing. (apart from EO & plugs)

 

Bike has been left neglected for many months with less than 500km clocked.

 

Rosli did some servicing on my brake piston and changed a fresh pair of pads.

Battery doesnt hold it's charge well, so I have it replaced as well.

Replaced the filter to an OEM brand.

 

Managed to escape with $180 damage.

 

Not necessary the cheapest, but the workmanship let me have a piece of mind.

$180 should be alright lah,,

i think i also need to send mine too,,

been 6 months not riding liao.

i wonder the latest model of shadow 750cc don had the kind of Ace exhaust,it is their trademark of shadow family

Hi,Hoping to get some shadow 400 advice here. Is it normal to hear knocking sound from engine when its idling? The sound is especially obvious when I rev up.Can anyone advise how much does it cost to overhaul the shadow 400 engine?Thanks in advance. :)

Is it a knocking or constant ticking sound?

If it's a rapid ticking sound, it could be just the toppets that need adjusting?

 

Why do you think it needs an overhaul?

Its comes with ticking which is consistent throughout. But there is knocking sound when i rev up. When it settle from the rev to idle, the knocking sound disappeared for 1 - 2 sec then knock again when its in idle (not so obvious). The knocking sound is obvious when i open throttle.

 

I used to have a 135cc RXZ. Mechanic told me piston going to jam as the knocking sound is show tell sign. That knocking sound in Shadow that I heard is almost sound the same. That's why I am concern with the sound.

You are right to be concerned. You should have a mechanic check that.

Do you emit a lot of white smoke? That's also a sign of a broken piston ring.

In fact, that Shadow doesn't belong to me. I wanted to buy the bike but was uncertain when I hear the knocking sound. Started for around 5 min, didn't notice any smoke though.

Looks like I got to keep searching..
