is it easy to change the grip assembly(the brake and clutch thingy)? I tot of getting the bar and change myself. Its not really a mod, but more to fixing by swopping my bent handle bar to a normal handle bar. Seller says its 35" from end to end.

Its low enough for me oredi cos I got long legs. In fact, sometimes it is tiring if I riding my ACE for too long.

If the handle bar that you are buying has a similar length as your current one, it shouldn't be difficult to DIY.

Maybe you get install highway bar so that you can stretch your legs out when cruising? Then you wont feel tired during long ride? Or you can install floor plate or maybe forward control kit?

This is the bar I looking at.

Heard that a new piece for ACE cost $100+ at chong aik, so trying to see if any used in the market.

I believe I m on the floor plate (like a platform with HD logo). I shall go google the fwd control kit thing. Sounds like it can solve my problem.

Sure. Hope its a low cost improvement. But first, the handle bar. Its bothering me.

I realised that, my bike tends to stall when its hot. Do u know how to check coolant level for ACE?

Posted
Isn't that risky?

I think its about sound decibels. They must have set a standard that if you exceed it, you fail.

Anybody try adding baffles to their aftermarket pipes? They lower the sound of open exhausts so maybe it'll pass?

heyy are those the thinner cobras? im using them on my steed too. where did you get them from and how much? mines rusting.

I usually fill it slowly until I can see the coolant rise or I dip my finger to check how high the coolant is.

You can also check if the auxiliary fan is working.

Normally bike shop technician uses touch light to shine into the coolant container to see the water level.

Bike stalls can be due to many reasons. It can be spark plug, dirty air filter, wiring connector burnt or many more. If you read up earlier post from this thread, my bike also keep stalling in the middle of the road, and i sent to Rosli's shop for check up, it is due to dirty air filter + burnt wiring connector and these cause the spark plug to turn black. I change the air filter, wire connector, and spark plugs, and the bike came back to life again.

Bro, do u mean from the radiator cap? Its quite inaccessible right? The coolant tank also cannot see. That's y hope to find some answers here. :)

I just isolated the eng stall problem. Idling is ok. However, when I engage 1st gear and did not move/ throttle a little, the bike will die off slowly. I suspect its the clutch. Hv to go bike shop to verify..

Good idea. Torch light should do it. This is more for weekly check.

Yup, I saw your thread and many reviews, that's y I proceeded to rosli also. To be honest, with the price paid, I quite disappointed with the after results. I did the following at rosli:

Replace:

Plugs

Air filter

Steering cone bearing

Front tire

Wiring connector (supplying electric to spark plug cable)

Service:

Carburetor

Valve clearance

Experience:

Bike sway to right when collect bike.(Re-tuned, nw bike sway left)

The water in carb feeling.

(Bike has not been under rain, but still got this water feeling. Nw I suspect jetting not done properly)

Next destination shld be planet motor. Only worry, hv to wait very long.

Hi. I ordered them from the US. You can try http://www.cruisercustomizing.com.

But my suggestion is you fabricate your own exhausts. Its much cheaper and you already have an exhaust you can copy.

Thinking of getting the chrome radiator cover and a chrome rectifier cover.

But first things first.. i need to get well. i broke my arm during high speed cycling its been a month ever since. No riding for another two =(

Bro your phantom handle bar looks like a bicycle handle bar, is it?

Actually we are quite alike, a cruiser lover, my previous bike was also TA200, and I used to do road cycling (BH road bike) too, but i sold it away due to work commitment. I used to ride with Team Easton. :)

Hope you are alright, please take care! Wish you speedy recovery, then we can meet up soon.

hahahaha. nooo. Those bars and risers were bought from a cruiser shop in thailand. They were rather thin so i had them wrapped up. Actually, i broke my hand cycling in an army camp off shore in an "adventure" and had more than i bargained for ; being evacuated to the hospital. but thats a story for another day. Nice we both stay in the east. Spize... changi... east coast satay..

Haha....heard the same proposal frm Rosli before I replaced my pipes...was considering that when a bro sold me his upmarket pipes.

Need to consider inspection process if you really want to operate.

Sevendust, yeah i got it from RS. But you modded your pipes too right? did you do it at JB?

Franciscyc, I love the look of the fat stock exhaust. but its just too silent. i ride my vespa at times and the silence of my shadow is even more obvious. at 100kmh, i think i only hear the wind and the rumble of the bike. (unless i suddenly open throttle, then can hear the chopper sound. but waste fuel lah.. haha)

Of course I trust my skills. I ride alone cos I don't trust the competency of the driver next to me.

these forward controls are rather expensive, no? i'm sitting on the back edge of my seats just so i can stretch my legs a little as i ride. i'm thinking of replacing with pan leather seats and shifting the seat back. anyone done this before?
