Hi!

I'm a new shadow rider, and very excited about my ride. I have 1997 (reg 1998) Shadow 400.

Been reading through the forums and have had heaps of questions answered and have a few more to ask. Hope you will help me out.

1) the rear suspension seems to be adjustable. how do I adjust that?

2) part of servicing involves readjusting the stock carb. where can i get aftermarket carb's, that wont need as adjustments as often?

3) whats the largest rear tire size I can comfortably change to without any modifications?

4) The black plastic covering on the front, behind and below the speedo console is loose/broken causing it to rattle. Would you know it possible to buy the replacement this somewhere?

Thanks for your help! Hopefully i make it to the sunday meets one of these weeks.

Welcome to the thread! join us this friday won't you?

I think you can get replacement neck covers from aunty shop.

for your carb, i dont think you need to service them very often too. but you can try heading down to rosli's. he's knowledgeable on those kinda stuff. same goes for your suspension too.

Of course I trust my skills. I ride alone cos I don't trust the competency of the driver next to me.

Hi,

Anyone knows a good place to buy and install a good replacement headlight for our Shadow? Good as in able to throw the light properly.

My existing headlight is those 'chiong' type installed by the previous owner and some parts of the reflector and also the front lens is 'blistered'.

Im definitely going to put back the valuable pouch. It fits a whole XL canvas, insurance papers, road tax disc and coupons. Got this from lab for less than two red notes. hehehe. Actually less than one after i traded in my old 2T from my old ride. The quality is crap but it gets the job done.

Had been contemplating if i wanted to put the crashbar on for sometime because it kinda spoils the look that im trying to achieve. However, decided to get it because safety comes first. At least i would have better hopes to save some skin with the bars when the time comes.

Yes. You guys were right about LIM AH BOY. I dont want to elaborate.

"Aunty shop"

@ Paya ubi industrial park #01-16 tel : 67478611

Its at the middle lane of that industrial park.

Aunty shop didnt have a direct fit for the crashbars. She wanted to improvise the phantoms bar to fit it with brackets and stretch but i declined.

By the way, aunty wasnt rude to me today. Answered my queries spot on and took the effort to look at my bike. Very different than when she was at kelantan lane. Her daughter is kind of pretty too. hehehe. oops.I got from her a chrome regulator cover and a chrome radiator cover. Will fix it on when im free. Saw alot of accessories there. Chrome stock horn cover, Axle caps, clear lens led signals, integrated bobber signal and license plate, a few cool looking headlamps, chrome brake fluid cover, risers, chrome neck covers, handlebar and some others. All very affordable (:

Ariess, happen to saw your want for the crashbar on the steed's thread. If this pics had enticed you, pm me first before getting it alright. Will tell you my story.

*edited sharing openly

unlike the ta200 bars which one could "hide" and let the bars take the skid due to its wide sweep and the phantoms small frame, I wouldnt put my hopes too high with this one with the weight of the ride, height and structure. Also, I was wearing a wide front boot and my foot gets stuck between the bars due to the narrow clearance of the bar and gear shifter. I've written in though.

Seriously, very nice mods on your steed. Have you considered Centerline wheel caps?

I had one of these when I used to ride my Steed.

They would look like this on your shadow. This was my Steed with the centerline wheel caps.

And get this rear sprocket cover. Too bad this won't fit our ACE.
