Anyway, the main thang for Mitos, I guess, is, it's good, has a bad reputation, can go, looks nice, handles wickedly, turns heads and somehow makes ppl crazy (why everyone seems to wanna race me?? Even 400s! ). And you're welcome to the club of stubborn people whom just won't listen and will follow your heart. heh.

TZR overbore to 180cc is very common liaoz~ Its an old skool mod already~ Its nothing special~ just TZM piston and block and WR2 head, however alot of things should be gotten to comprehend this overbore. Its like a blueprint stage upgrade~

yah i know about the polini, still thinking whether to do or not, coz there're possibly a lot of inherent problems if I were to go that path, so that's why I like to know more about other overbore projects..

 

Anyway, TZM piston and block, aren't they supposed to be 150ccm? How come 180? You overbore the tzm block to 180 and use a 180 tzm piston is it? and why use a wr2 head?

Actually I'm riding my fren'z aprilia now but somehow rather I still prefer Mito becoz of it's tail which is unlike aprilia's bee tails. only setback is tt i seen couple of Mitos around but felt the ones I'd seen so far are rather in lok kok condition liek those FM plates the most.(No offense to Mito Riders ) So prob won't get a 2nd hand. Rather spend more on 1st hand and saving the hassles of going in and out of bike shop juz to do repairings. Juz wondering which shop in SG sells new Mito. if yes, what's the price like? íf there's case whether no shops in sg selling new Mito, what's the latest production plate/year for Mito and the price as well?

bro ar.. i asked 1st motor b4 liao.. they say nvr import liao.. parts 2 ex.. summore onli excel n 1st motor + minerva got parts.. summore gotta order 1 lehz.. if got 1st hand i sure get.. btw.. 1st motor's boss's son is riding a fs mito.. really nice n fast.. the youngest mito i have seen ard is onli max 3 yrs old.. its a red ft mito.. really nice.. abit diff frm the fm plate that we own i feel.. the feeling is diff.. outlook seems somehow diff too.. btw.. that exhaust above is wat im using rite now.. =x

Hahaha, dude, it's too expensive for us mere mortals to even consider lah, it's like $15k OTR, better buy an FV R1 or something like that...

 

Or better yet, spend 3-4k on a FS Mito, and spend that extra 10k modding/accessorize the bike with every damn bloody thing that you could possibly think of, and still have plenty left to pay for all the summons you can get.

You forgot the upgraded airbox/intake, custom K&N air filter, a larger Mikuni/Keihin carburettor, an extra 50cc endcan and my name written all over it.

wah bruddah you using arrow now izzit? Wah, fierce sia...

 

But, heh, sorry to spoil your fiasco ah, but for two strokes, you change the endcan (aka muffler or silencer) only no bloody point lah. You gotta change the entire system (that means the endcan AND the manifold) to get a difference.

 

BTW, the original Mito pipes are made specially by Arrow for Cagiva (tendered lah). So, again, I don't see much point there too, huh?

no larz.. i using the stomach.. end can stock 1.. hmm.. its really a big diff lehz.. the air flow.. the 'strength' of air coming out frm the end can is really.. 'fuuuwahhhh'... btw.. arrow does have some special parts for mito.. but i blieve they got nth 2 do with their stock exhuast system.. it really sux.. even after an 'operation'..

Hmm, okay, buy a FS FT Mito is definitely around 3-4k, but it'd probably have less stuff to touch up, easier for you.

 

The newer 6 speeders also have a lot of restrictions, I read. One in the endcan, another in the carburettor, and maybe also in the manifold, I forgot.

 

The seven speeders are all-out pure racing machines, which also means that they have a tendency to break down, coz they're so finely tuned.

 

One word of warning. You wanna buy a Mito, the MOST important thing I can think of now is that, besides makin sure that everything works good, the rectifier MUST be in good working condition. Otherwise, you'd be cursing yourself to hell, coz there hasn't been any more stock on it since the past year or even more. Just the notion of having to push start EVERY TIME the engine is switched off, heh, will probably make you cold sweat. I remember there was this one WHOLE week I had to do that, turned out that my battery spoilt.

 

How to check rectifier, you ask? Hmm.. Bring a multimeter/voltmeter. Attach to battery. Should register ~12v. Turn on engine, rev it slowly up and if the voltage goes higher (moves relatively with the amount of throttle), I think it should be good. At about 6 RPM it should already be about 14v.

 

Buy a mito and don't expect to ride it hard the first few weeks. Take time to reeeeally try to identify potential problems (by feeling, listening, looking, etc), and at the same time, treat as if you're running in the engine.

 

The way I see it, since Mitos are very very expensive first hand, only rich-man sons buy them, and I am doubtful that rich-man son is dutiful enough to take care of their bikes at all. I doubt they even know what a carburettor is, or how an engine works, etc etc..

 

So it's only good to assume that your bike's got some problems, so make sure you identify them and fix it as soon as you can. Take for example, me. I tried identifying all the problems, but still missed out on one and ended up jamming my piston (coolant system was faulty, leaking).

 

Once you identify and fix everything, your engine would've been "run-in" and you can start having fun already!!

my frn bought his mito at excel for 2.5k last july.. evything goes wrong.. he spent i think another 2.5k at excel but no improvement at all.. till i decided to take over his bike n get evything done at 1st motor.. 1st motor is kinda ex compare to outside.. but at least they r honest with their work.. wont chop here chop there.. btw.. for the arrow special parts for mito.. i think it cost onli 400 for a full exhaust system ?? not 2 sure.. i onli got the stomach..
