Compared to the 150cc sportbikes Mito's low end is weaker because of the smaller CC and torque but when the valve opens, there's not much difference. Also, regarding the high revving nature of 2 stroke bikes, their real power and torque only comes at hign rpm. Just don't expect it to have a flat plateau powerband. Mito's power, for my 7speed model is 34bhp/10000rpm shows that it needs lots and lots of rev to give its maximum.

And regarding the climbing of slope i usually clutch in 1st gear, rev to maybe 5-6krpm and slip the clutch at the same time. I've no trouble finding speed going steep upslopes.

Agree wholeheartdly with ben.

I feel u all still need to understand Mito more. Its was e same for me on track. Get e gear wrong, get e exit speed wrong, n u screw up e next corner as well. I used to ques y i cant power out of e corners. It took me awhile to understand that its cos i m not in e powerband!

Remb its more of e skill of e rider than e bike. Dont worry all these will come with experience.

We would love to have a dedicated forum for Mito riders, similar to the ARC forum, where you can discuss anything you want, from technical discussion to talk c*ck threads, all categorised into neat sections, which makes searching for information much easier. There's so much info on this thread, but how to go about finding say for instance, valve motor servicing? Having a dedicated forum would help with bringing the community together.

 

If this appeals to you all, and you would like to have your own forum, do let me know.

Maybe you guys can start a simple consensus to get members' responses to see how many are supportive of it.

Thanks, but same as before, no one bothers to voice out their opinion over a dedicated forum for Mito riders.

gear 1....

 

cos thats the only gear you can whack regardless of how low your rpm is..

 

there is no extremely powerful gear on the mito...all the gears are configured to match a certain rpm.

 

one needs to understand that gears are just mechanism with teeth. higher the gear , lesser teeth.. same concept as bicycle.

 

the gear with the most teeth, or the biggest in size, will give you power to move off from stationary as the wheel will turn more with lesser revolutions, once the revolutions are higher, the gear changes to one with less teeth so that the bike can travel at the same speed with less work; revolutions...

yeah it was quite some time ago..

 

my first experience at PG was a crash... and only lasted half an hour..

 

which is why consider my self a major newbie at track...
