shd mito use good 2t($20plus) or normal 2t($10plus)?

Of cos good 2t la..is better to spent more on 2t than ending up overhaul ur engine n etc.

Hah..Recommended: Motul 710.

Think market price is ard $22 per bottle.

But there r places u can get cheaper.

Examples: like racewerks n etc...

curious, does anybody know whether is there any common problem with monster 4?

refer to older monster posts...

i supposed it is a really simple and affordable machine, but crappy electricals. from wad i read up last time, fried alternators, melted connectors and wirings and improper/worn out carb jettings which resulted in difficulty in starting the bike, easily fouled plugs, bike surging or choking on a certain rpm.

i think the worst problem with the monster is its particular tire size which most shops dun carry. and even if have, most of them in very old age and very expensive.

otherwise it is a pretty gd st bike wit a very unique sound, something like a harley's exhaust wit a more deeper and bassy note.

i started a fq plate m4 wit st legal termighoni endcans and a fw plate m4 dark monster wit remus ducati titanium race can be4... even my busa fren was astonished by the sound made by dark monster! very punchy, low and controlled. heard to believe the dark monster is oni 400cc!

the termi m4 was alot softer, due to the silencer. but i supposed the sounds would be close to the race can after the silencer wad taken out heheh...

yep. it is true tat the 7 gear is faster than 6 gear cos of the gear ratio. the 7th gear is the overdrive. which u dun use on track. the 1st n 2nd gear dun really go blasting it, not really good for the 7th gear bike. im just saying base from my own experience n information from my mechanics and friends.

cos im a person who love going at high rpm n play with the bike. but of course, the maintence n checking on the bike is important . secondly, u have to see wat spocket size ur using cos it depend u wan mid to top end or juz on acceralation part. 3rdly, is ur clutch n timing of changing gears. n minimise the drop of the rpm while changing gears.

actually wads the defination of "fast"?

have a higher top speed or reaching it's top speed faster?

supposed got 2 mitos, one tuned for a top speed of 170km/h, but crappy acceleration; another tuned for a top of 155km/h but can reached its top alot faster then the previous bike.

let's not say on the track, supposed both bikes tried their top on the 2nd link(assuming both riders had the same level of skill and weight), who will win?

the 155 mito had already reached its top speed, accelerating away very fast from the 170 mito while it's struggling to clear the rpm through it's every gear. by the time it had reached 170km/h, the 155 mito had already a very far lead ahead.

sure, sooner or later the 170 mito would have caught up with the 155 mito, but for how long would the rider of the 170 mito dared to fully wot all the way?

in my opinion, all 125cc bikes, when tuned up perfectly, should yield more or less the same bhp/torque(kindly correct me if i'm wrong).

if the mito7 had the same final drive ratio on the 7th gear, no doubt it should accelerate faster than mito6.

but we all, even me, had assumed the mito7's last gear had a higher drive ratio than mito6's last gear, assuming both engines had been tuned to identical optimal performance, which is really faster?

and through feedbacks from other mito7 riders here, even when u hit redline, or even over-rev abit on the 6th gear be4 changing to the 7th gear, the engine did not have enough torque to accelerate more.

plus the proper technique to shift up when u wot, is not to use the clutch at all, since the rpm would drop quite abit down. u should close the throttle a tiny bit, at the same time kick up. if u do it correctly, the gear should change smoothly with minimal drop in the rpm. the bike should accelerate faster than when the clutch was engaged.

of course, power is nothing without control and skills(i found that out when trying the rs250), and how fast the bike can accelerate and reaching the top, still depends mainly on the rider!

actually i was looking for a cheap replica series rs250 for some cheap thrill for a couple of yrs be4 moving up for my dream ducati m900/s2r1000/m1000ds.

the rs250's power surge had really caught up wit me after riding ben's rs250 for a few days.

even sped past a brand new porsche carrera s @2nd link going ard 150+km/h after dropping 2 gears! the power surge was so great that when i passed the porsche, everything was a blur! i clutched in and coasted after i experienced slight tank slap which i suspected the bike had started to nose up at that sudden surge of speed.

i think 2strokes bike had little torque be4 the valves open, but when the valves started to open, the sudden huge increases in acceleration really hooked me up heheh...

it may have plenty of acceleration, but i suspected the top speed should be ard 180+km/h only(on my digimeter), would update after the pistons had run in and fit for a wot top testing session!

i would suggest strongly to fit the digimeter for an accurate display of speed, since the distance covered by one round of the front tire is inputed for the digimeter's calculation of speed.

thus, when my planet is @90km/h, my fren's r1, r6 and hayabusa was at 100km/h. the closest bike to mine would be the black bird, which was faster by mine ard 3-4km/h.

well u can dump ard $300+ for a forged aluminium piston change(faster and abit higher top rev), or $2k+ for a 160cc big bore kit(more torque and power).

of course u might be better off and cheaper to maintain with a 2a bike, but for sure you'll be the king of the road le... of 2b bikes... hahah!

linglila- well the sports bike position, though not as comfy as a st bike, does offers alot more stability and comfort at high speeds.

this weekend gp town breakfast! on?

Finally riding my 250 has made jon the mindset to upgrade. Unfortunately the bike died today..The speed is in another dimension compared to my mito or jon's planet. In the past when my 7 speed mito,(i suspect tuned for top speed 170kph) took a damn long time acclerating to catch up with jon's tuned for accleration planet. On the RS250,I acclerate past jon when he is almost maxing out on 150+kph and requires no much effort..hahas.

Regarding gp town bfast, jon: unless the 250 is settled, it will be out of action until after new yr man :giddy:
