HI all,

Advice needed on my skipper...when placed on the main stand, i found out tat my rear tyre encountered difficulty in turning (machiam stuck and needed force in turning my tyre; haf not start engine). However when i start my engine while on main stand, the rear tyre was turning continously smoothly and when i apply rear brake the engine will cut off. When i release main stand and sit on my skipper, my engine will die off (apparently due to the fact tat when the rear tyre contact with the ground it stops the revoluntion).. Tyre is pumped with air ytd..May i enquire the experts here wat can i do to rectify the problem or shld i call in the tow? Thanks in advance for all the help

Hmm... very complicated problem but let try to find a possible fault that might have caused this.

 

1) It could be due to your engine mounting faulty causing the tyre to be pressed againts the engine parts?

2) Your rollers might be worned out causing your clutch to be affected.

3) There might be something to do with your drum brake pads as well.

 

There are loads more things that might have caused this so it is best to bring it down to a bike shop that can be trusted for a check. Knowing that most skipper is nearly 12 yrs old, things do happen to the bike without you knowing. :smile:

I recall when my engine is off, the rear wheels need some strength to make them turn manually..I believe it's normal for belt driven auto scoots. As for when you release main stand and bike stalls....why not try to open throttle slighly before releasing main stand? There is some free reeving space for Skipper before it starts to move. If you can ride it to a shop...then no need to waste money to tow liao :smile:

tks SK I...however when i release my main stand (did throttle slightly before releasing) the bike will feel like jerking forward and stall immediately, thus i cant even ride to the shop...I had not experienced such problem and guess i do haf to call in the tow :mad: . But tks anyway for responding to my :help: ..

:cheer: apparently it was due to the belt and bearing (been a while since i change though?:sweat: ).

Btw i haf another qn: just change my dry battery to those soluble bat cos the former seem cannot charge and haf to be replaced (cant e start and lights function), however since ytd it seem the misery came back where i cant estart and all my lights and signals cant work), thus i was wondering whether would there be any other prob? (going back to motordiam to clarify tml) thanks you, this ought to be the most problematic week i had since i got my skipper 3yr back:giddy:

nEo OnE>>Hmm i think motordiam close leh tml :cheeky: First think i would advice you to check would be your fuses. It could also be due to your fuses may be old or rusty liao. Secondly, could be due to the rectifier located at the front part of the skipper that might have cause the charging unit not to be done properly. Maybe you may want to check these out first but i strongly feel it could be due to the rectifier :smile: cause i encountered such think before :sweat:

Ermmm,:confused: actually Ihave a sefra 80cc (small brither of skipper) on hand but I was wondering how much can I acually fetch. My ideal price is ard 300 plus .:cheeky:
