Buying a bike in Perth

Hi all,

 

So I have a relative staying there. I was planning to get a bike there for me to ride when I go over.

 

Any idea if a 2a license can buy and ride a bigger cc bike there? I'm also not an Aussie PR. Can I even buy a bike?

From what I read....

 

You have to be a Resident in order to buy.

 

As a tourist, you can only rent, and the insurance fee is very high. Even with a International Driving Permit.

 

If you are thinking of getting your relative to buy, and you ride. You need to pay at least few k insurance to protect him and cover your riding.

 

If you are going to stay for 6 months there, you could try going for the testing, and kinda of convert your licence. When you return, you need to show proof of having ridden for 6 months over there in order to convert your licence to class 2 for Singapore.
