ERP fine, $70? wtf? help pls!

hi all.

i went thru the grantries without IU.

cos my IU is spoiled thus i took it off.

but since there's no U turn, and i can't stop,

i have to go thru it.

 

i received a fine of $70 x 4 = $280.

cos i go thru them 4 times.

 

zzz, i thought is $10 only.

 

so can i appeal anot? or any way to help?

with iu without cashcard .. $10 admin fees + erp charges..

if your iu spoilt u can go vicom for inspection.. if urs still under warranty can get new one free.

but now evrytym i enter gantry they will send me letter to go for IU inspection..

just try appeal at LTA..

most prob they will waived off the other 3 tymes u went in..

charged u for once only..

or better still..

waived off the fine..

just need to pay the erp charge..

mine is summoned in 2nd june, 12 june x 2, 16 june.

will it be too late to appeal?

cos im the rider, not the owner of the bike.

thus, letter is sent to the owner.

he didn't pass the letter immediatly to me when he received it.

yup...wat gabriel said is true.jus put it back....go for inspection for iu...den send de receipt or acknowledgement from de inspection ctr together wif ur appeal letter to LTA.

bro u should appeal. i also ur case the prob why i always kena is cause my IU spoilt. and its self accident spoil. so wan change must pay. got once i also go thru 4 all together. go MP appeal, waived. and should get it changed or learn ur erp timings haha.

The only way out is to write to LTA to appeal, cam also go personally to LTA office to appeal.

Bro, mount back your IU and visit Vicom, let them check it. If found faulty, they will waive your fine for you.

but if they look back the video when you pass the gantry without the iu unit also no use as they will still charge you , just my 2 cents tot

Bro,

Was in a similar predicament as yours before. IU spoilt and went through the gantry. Was a sub-rider for my old bike. Letter went to owner who sat on it. So, the admin fees became a fine.

 

Best way is to bring your insurance cert with your name as sub-rider and go to LTA to appeal. State that the owner did not inform you of the summons. Also state that your IU unit, sometimes on, sometimes off.... so maybe that time cannot detect.

 

Most likely, they will revert back to $10 admin fees plus ERP charges. If unsuccessful, you can still request for deferment of payment until you get money....

 

Next time, check your fines faithfully on http://www.ecitizen.gov.sg

 

And make sure you settle this ASAP or risk getting a court summons. Remember, the penalty for repeatedly ignoring summons is a driving/riding ban extending up to 99 years!!!!!
