Need help pls...

I jus got a 2nd printer from a friend. It's an all-in-one Epson Stylus CX3500. I understand that its an old model but the condition of the printer is 9/10. I downloaded all the drivers I need for my particular printer model and those that supports my OS. But when I tried printing a black and white document, not a single ink were on the paper. Even though the printer is working fine. And I jus got the ink on the same day I tried to fix this problem. Any solution guys?

And another problem I got is... After I "gave up" trouble shooting the problem, I restarted my PC. At startup, I was prompt with a new device found twice. One is for a SM Bus Controller and the other is for a Multimedia Audio Controller. Where can I get the drivers for this two? Help pls.

The SMBus Controller (or system bus controller) is part of the Intel chipset. It monitors your system board's temperature and voltage. Programs that read your hardware sensors need the controller.

 

The software to install it should have come with your motherboard. Contact your supplier or its web site for the software. If necessary, you might locate a generic smbus controller driver on the Intel.com site.

 

As an aside to this, I'm guessing that you did a total PC reformat, hence it's asking you for these kinds of drivers?

 

Multimedia Audio Controller? Not too sure; you need to really get the exact brand and model of that sound card to be able to download drivers for it. One way is to Google up your computer brand and model, look at its Specifications (or Specs) online, and get that sound card's brand/model.

 

For the printer, I'm not too sure. There may be a few possibilities, but these are just my educated guesses:

 

[1] It just needs to be calibrated. Have you done it yet?

[2] Printer's logic board (that's the circuitry that controls the whole printer) is malfunctioning.

 

Time to whip out your warranty card if #2 is true.

yr PC now got sound or not?

are u using an onboard soundcard?

 

SM bus and audio controller errors could be due to the relevant drivers not being installed. the installation disk will come with the purchase of the motherboard or PC.

 

plugging in the printer (i assume its via the USB port) could have triggered the computer to prompt u to install the drivers for these 2 controllers along with the newly plugged in printer.

to add-on to redbeacon's post, there is also possibility that the inkhead has been clogged up due to long period of non-usage.

as such, changing to new ink cartridge is not useful as the ink canot get to the paper.

in such a case, i suggest you perform printhead deep cleaning (may need to clean more than once) via Control Panel.

hopefully this can help clear up the clog.

jus buy a brand new printer if u intend to repair it...not worth it to repair.

 

i change printer everytime, cos buying a new set of ink cost $100+, new printer with a set of ink also $100+, might as well buy a new one.
