Hi Friends,

New bike rider here, with a pretty old RXK. Having some issues with my bike which I want your input on.

I bought my RXK that came without the IU unit and while I was having it installed, the mechanic at STA told me that it's going to affect my battery. Initially didn't understand how it would affect my bike, but now I know. Everytime I try to start it, like after not riding it for more than 2-3 hours, it takes damn long to kick start. When I first got it, one kick and can start already.

I brought it back to the workshop where I bought it from and the mechanic there told me nothing to do with the battery, just open the choke and kick start. I did that, and sometimes I can kick start almost immediately, or maybe after 2-3 kicks. Sometimes more. The problem is, I die die have to rev the engines for awhile, otherwise it will just die and I need to kick start all over again.

What this means is that while I start my ride, the first 10 minutes or so, I gotta be continuously revving my engines a little at the traffic lights so that it doesn't die - which has happened to me a couple of times already and I need to push my bike to the side of the road to kick start.

But after riding for more than 10 minutes, no more issues. Can stop at the traffic light and not rev my engines and it will be fine.

So my question is, is this normal? If not, what should I be replacing? Do I need new batteries or a sparkplug or something else? Please let me know! Kam sia.
