yes the ktm exc 200 is a powerful bike cos its a race ready enduro bike. it alot faster than most of the current dual purpose bikes dat is out on the market now. its needs 2 be maintain n service 2 juz like any other dual purpose bike.

 

anyway,there r a lot of info on the forum on 2strokes n 4 strokes bikes here 2 help u decide.

 

as 4 the term ''TRACK'' use--- meaning riding mx or a x country race etc.

riding off road in tanah merah or pasir ris is not track use!

 

so hope u guys know what is track use n recreational useage is all abt now.

but actually why nt bear with it and get somethin like kup kia or even phantom..den get 400cc scram cus maintainence will nt be as high as a 2b..plus is a 4stroke..no hassle of 2t and high petrol consumpsion...

given yr height---- the ktm 200 which is one of the biggest biles out there would be abt yr only choice. check out the mssc website,there is a 06 ktm exc 200 4 sale.

I have a WR200 and a DR200.

 

DR200 is my daily bike and it's just amazing. No hassle, good FC - about 36km/l, still small enough to split lanes. I cruise at about 100 easily. I'm going to keep this bike even after I get my 2A and 2 because it's just such a hassle free, low maintenance bike. Plus, it actually looks pretty good.

 

WR200 is just pure fun. Very good torque and performance is awesome (new carb, new reeds, new PC exhaust). But, I won't recommend it to be a daily rider if you don't keep it well groomed. It's a lot less fussy than a KTM, but you still need 2T top ups and regular servicing (I change oil every time I top up 2T only cos I'm anal and I have a great engine and want to keep it that way) it's hell to find one in good condition for an affordable price.

 

So....

 

If there's a class 2 bike of your dreams that you're saving money for, I suggest a DR200 for the next 2+ years until you get the class 2, then buy your dream class 2 bike. I think I'll definitely keep my DR200 after I get my class 2 bike. If you're not sentimental like me, just sell it off then and you won't lose too much money for it.

well,the dr 200 is a good entry level bike without a doubt. so as with any entry level dual purpose bikes,suspension and seat height is kept 2 as low as possible!

 

its possible 2 lower the overall ride height of the bike from the stock settings(which is already 2 low 4 yr height) but 2 increase it u r looking at changing the front n rear suspension units.

but,u still can ride it stock if u r not going 2 push the bike hard.

hi, my fc cannot use as an example because i only used her for trail, always throttle hard in trail but she still give me 20m/l.

normal road use i think she drinks a lot less.

high speed riding and scrapping your knee is fun, but dirt riding is even better!

don't worry about the height and power, for new rider, it takes you atleast half a year before you can fully utilise the bike's power.

get the bike, learn how to ride to its max and have fun at the same time!

erm how bout honda varadaro? quite a gd bike.. can go far.. 4stroke and i think it should fit ur size quite nicely.. =) but dat is only if money is nt an issue.. cus for a 2b bike, the price is rather steep

wr's have been popping up almost every other day for sale.

still hunting for a good find. its rare to get one which is properly taken care of from its previous owners.

so tell me if you see any wr2/xr2 somewhere that's worth mentioning yeah.

so far the prices for wr2s are usually less than 2.6k.

quite affordable, plus im happy enough i can get 20km/l.

well,there is a wr 200 dat is well taken care off. had a complete engine rebuilt n its stock. comes with motard set up. lady was riding the bike,but i tink its out of yr budget. well,wait n a good bike 2 come along

hi! well,watever brand of bike u ride. its important 2 service the bike up on a regular basis. and if u r going 2 ride it off road pay attention 2 yr air box n water proof it yrself. these things r not done by a bike shop unless 2 ask them 2 do n r prepared 2 pay 4 it. but after looking at the pics,its was really a mud bathe there!

haha..sian..but have to be mentally prepared when goin off rd ba..bike can break dwn anytime... and always go wif a few ppl so dat if anything goes wrong, there's still someone there to help...

 

 

 

and ya as for the bike.. hmm like wad was mention above, get a decent wr2 or xr2..shld be gd enough for normal trailing..

 

but still have to consider this, as wr is an old bike,it will sure bound to haf problem..and parts they still have it,but i guess its kinda limited,so its normal dat shop or anywhere will jet up the prices.. but its one of the more powerful ones amount the 200cc range.. as for xr2, think its a 4stroker right?so ya maintanence will nt be as high as a wr..no hassle of 2t.. but downside is nt as powerful as a wr?but f.c for it pretty good..

 

can always consider a dr200 also?.. hmm low f.c and can go light trails also..4 stroker also.. and there's xr125 also.. if u dun mind the size for both this bikes =) but those 2 can really save quite a bit on petrol.. =D

 

but if u have the money, and gonna keep the bike for quite some time.. can always consider buyin those first scram like ktm,aprilia or husq.. haha =D

 

but ultimately.. its up to u to decide which to go for, do some research on the bikes and when u decided on which to go for..its time to start hunting!lol =D

whatever it is, just follow ur heart, what important is u are happy wif the bike.. and enjoy the time with it.. and ride safe! sorry for typing so much..haha jus some suggestions.. =)
