there's alot .. from soft compound best grip for dry and wet - Pirelli Diablo Rosso , Bridgestone Battlax BT090

good at wet - Dunlop Alpha 10

good at dry + long lasting -Metzeler Sportec M3

hmm, i think bt90 seems to be the best choice since it's good for wet and dry.

and found out something about my bike today, even though they have the best service at Kaki Bukit, it was f-up to know that my rear tyre was produced in the year 2003. WAY WAY OVERDUE even though it's new. ):

Good choice, Soap.

BT090, tried and tested in wet and dry.

Wet: Climbed Camerons and had fun in the bendy roads. Mainly rainy conditions. Also did 2 trips up north. Both times stormed heavily. Tyres maintained grip even in 1-2 inch water patches on the road.

Dry: Excellent. Malaysia trunk roads with lots of bends and sometimes requiring quick directional changes. Filtering between cars & express buses on NSHighway. Also did my personal top of 135km/h on 4 months old BT090s. :)

Be wary of the source of information for your bike's maintenance. Some FAQs are compiled by people who lack the technical know how.

better ask for refund or new set of tires bro

general shelf life for a set of tires is 4-6 years

anything more than that and it would be unfit for use

anyway im amazed at the rate you guys are changing the bt090s

wear out too fast and imo a waste of money

personally i would recommend bt39(decent all rounder) or dunlop a10(excellent in wet)

and they dont wear out as fast as the 090s

is it? thats kinda old...

I did my tire change at Unique, I actually asked for the date of manufacture.and they produced it. Tires there have a higher turn over rate so they are restocked regularly...plus they will balance the tires for you too.

next tire change you can go to HKL or Unique Motors. For comparison i changed my BT39s for 215 including balancing..done in 30mins.

good choice on the bt39

Actually, I think it was 136km/h... hahaha :)

Maintain bike like me lor. Also must know how to "train" her so can run very fast. Mine is White Eagle, so can fly already... LOL

Anyway, it was achieved with a very very slight incline. Didn't really set out to do a top speed run but was just trying to overtake an express bus. As I was along side the bus, just happened to glance down at my meters and saw the speed. RPM was at approximately 10,990. Then quickly close throttle a bit so I don't red-line the engine...

I believe changing my sprocket helped because engine running at a more relaxed pace, e.g. 110km/h at 9000rpm

136 is possible (=

ya chain and spocket also plays a impt role in achieving higher speeds at lower rpm (=

soft compound means wat?

soft compound mean .. difficult to explain ...

soft compound wear and tear much faster but in return you get load of grip.. most ppl use in on track to get maximum grip ..

hard compound is opposite.. wear and tear will be little but grip is normal.. mostly road use ..

swallow tires really that good meh

Seany, want to elaborate? :)

White Eagle's ex-owner used Swallow for 2 years, 26000km. So yes, very long lasting.

White Eagle didn't like my training with Swallows, so I changed after a month...
