thanks for info ramsnake did you change front sprocket as well and what size cone did you use

U're most welcome, daelimman :)

Didn't change front sprocket as still good condition. When changing sprocket size to change gearing ratio, it's best to leave the front as stock size. This is because it is directly connected to the crankshaft. Using a wrong sprocket size affects the crankshaft in terms of stress limits the shaft was built for. If you must change the front, go max one tooth up or down. Upsize also present clearance issues in the housing.

Part no for K&N not with me now. Check with CKA's Chief Mechanic Roy at HQ.

Cheers

To those who intend to "save up" and change tyres in Malaysia, please rethink it over. Went there and survey. Goodness, production date 1991? Speechless much. I think a change of engine oil and accesorizing your bike up there is worth it. Other than that, everything in Singapore would do.

Yup, don't be penny wise pound foolish. Good one, Soap! :thumb:

For me, I change engine oil at CKA coz got to buy Daelim oil filter anyway. As for accessories, why waste money? There's not much to do for our bikes. Upgrade important parts for its function. Looks don't matter so much.

There are very cheap/reasonable ways to personalise your ride as far as looks are concerned. Doing it in Sillypore is actually quite reasonable if you factor in the time spent to search for reliable shops in Malaysia (there are very good ones in Malaysia), ride in to get the work done, petrol etc. etc.

All a matter of knowing what you want and how much you want to spend... :)

5.5 is a good price:) anyways don't need to 'hope', Roy and the rest of the mechanics will definitely take care of the bike, and besides bro, any problems at all, they're really there to help. I brought my cl 2 bike to check and Roy still help to give advice and look it over.:) Service really top notch

hey guyzz... anyone knows wather our bike can fit other bike model gantong coz me and my wife big seiz lah confirm cannot last

Anything is possible bro, just a matter of how much $ you want to spend :)

I say this because all bikes can be modified. So, you can turn a monoshock bike to dual-shock or what people refer to as "gantong"; a term I can't comprehend how it came about. Mind that even mono-shocks are hung ("gantong" being Malay word for hang) from the chassis. Of course LTA approval is another matter altogether.

CKA has a stiffer shock for the rear. I'm not sure how much it is but they are not adjustable.

Ohlins have recently released mass market shocks that are fully adjustable. I believe these are in the $800 range. Motoworld and other bike shops do carry aftermarket rear shocks too. Check them out to see if they fit.

The question then to consider is: How long do you wish to keep this bike and how much do you wish to spend on it? How often you ride with the missus is also a key consideration.

Do keep in mind that when you adjust the rear, your forks should also be stiffened. Otherwise, the bike will not be balanced.

Good topic to discuss during the makan trip, bro. Look forward to it...

cheers

Maybe bro hahaha got my bike

New to the bike, so best to ride as much as you can before going on the trip, bro. Get to know her well. Rain or shine just ride. This is so you familiarize yourself to her. No offence if you're an experienced rider. To me, every bike is different and doing this is best practice for safety reasons.

Enjoy! :)
