Simple premise: ERP was implemented to ensure smooth flow of traffic, that is we pay, LTA gives smooth traffic. SIMPLE CONTRACT.

BUT if after paying, we still get clogged roads and bumper to bumper traffic, especially if it is caused by road works ordered by the LTA or NParks. Isn't LTA then in breach?

Case in point: I saw this huge traffic jam at eastbound ECP on the Benjamin Sheares bridge at 6.30 pm a few days ago. It was caused by road works at the crown of the bridge! Why are they messing with road works at the peak evening traffic right after the ERP gantry? If this is not stupid ... Hence in this case, how can the LTA still deduct money for jam caused by them?

Are you sure??? Then what next? Ask all the staff at LTA and all the Planners of the highways to be put into a Variable Bonus Scheme where their Bonus is dependent upon how they can increase the speed at the highways without increasing the rate in ERP?

When are where will all these demands end? Will it ever materialise?

Basically, the fact of life here is - if you wanna have private transport - go ahead - but you pay for it!

the bad thing is that the jams on ECP, PIE are now so normal that it doesn't get reported n the morning radio as a "jam" anymore - it's now "normal" traffic.. good thing is you don't get stuck in daily 2 hour jams in other cities.

not every bike is a TA200 ...

the crux of the matter is not whether jams are anything to bikers or not, but renovation works by LTA is causing un-necessary traffic disruptions and still charging vehicles for the ERP. its like baking a cake , charge your customers and u eat the cake.

Haha! Refund? No thanks.

If you served in the army for NS, you'd have heard of this song that goes:

"They give you hundred dollars, and take back ninety-nine..."

But, in this case, I think it'll be "give you hundred dollars, and take back nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine"
