guys, lately my fazer gen1 suddenly engine will cut off giving me a hard engine brake.. any1 know wats wrg wif it?

usually happen when gear 1 goin up to gear 2. sometimes gear 3.
also sometimes while riding, my bike seems to hav no power, its lik petrol goin to finish (note: i stil hav more den half tank) feeling, den suddenly e power came back.

any1 able to identify it?

juz to check any1 know wic older R1 stock exhaust (98-03) able to fit Gen1 fazer?

Change after market one lah...LOL.

Seen 1 with R1 exhaust before... > 4 years ago...when I was riding the GEN 1. Wanted to do that too. Should be those on delta box with carburetor still...

Hi,

Just share with you what I've done:

For run in, I ride below 5k rpm most of the time with occasional >7k short blast. During this time, change the gears frequently. Try to ride on normal roads instead of expressways as it can enable you to change gears.

EO I change at 500km, 1000km, 1500km with mineral oil and 2000km with fully synthetic.

For sidebox, H&B is highly recommended (although price a bit on the high side). I used them on my previous bike and it's good.

I used PC3 and dyno'ed the bike on stock setup (ie. no aftermarket exhaust, air filter, etc) and still show improvements in rideability

For taillight, I got the taillight LED bulb from one of the seller in this forum and replaced the stock bulb. Cheapest mod

hi bro, srry no replies as i wanst subscribe to this thread.. too many fazer thread.. currently mine have been wrking fine w/o any prob..

i did carb wash, changed plugs.. i tink its due to my dirty carb.. cos previous owner hasnt been taking good care to it.. juz gt it for 3 mths..

to me I bought gobi panniers cause they are top open junior ones are side open...... looks doesn't matter functionality does......

y gobi certainly look good on yr gen1 from yr siggy pic.. been trying to find gen1 wif gobi pannier but cant find till saw yrs.. really nice looking

juz askin ard for info.. keen in getting a fz1.. i was quoted 18k otr at a bikeshop in bt batok.. 4% interest.. plan of 3k downpayment.. so dat brings to a monthly of $300 for 5 years.. Resonable?
