help needed on bluetooth device

I met my relatives over the weekend for National Day celebration. My niece gave me a bluetooth dougle telling me that I can connect my hp and laptop via this bluetooth dougle with my PC.

 

The thing is, there is no installation CD, drivers and software. I plugged it into my PC and windows has updated the driver.

 

I have no idea how to use the bluetooth device. are there any programs that I can d/l and make use of?

 

its an A1pro bluetooth dougle. pls help

erm.. basic functions is to transfer file thru bluetooth lor. transfer songs, music or videos, etc. ask ur niece to teach u.

bluetooth and hp is fun I tell you used it with my Sony Ericsson w550i last time for presentations and also for stage AVA music selection with myself some distance away.

Usually after installing. U would see "My Bluetooth Places" in your "My Computer" folder. Double click that. There should be a "Setup Bluetooth Wizard". Click on that and follow through.

 

If dun have wizard. Just click on "devices". Do a "search for new device". Look for your niece lappy ID. Then connect to it. It should ask for pin number. Just input same number for both your lappy and your niece.

you can try going to that device's webpage/support and get the required program. Else email their tech support for it. I did the same last time for a laser mouse of mine. Their provided cd in the box didn't help much.

You've already installed the necessary applications to make your Bluetooth dongle work in XP. All you need to do is to have it plugged in and switched on.

 

If you want to send files to your computer from your mobile phone, (like how my Motorola phone works) all you need to do is to go to that file on your phone, and press "Copy", or "send to Bluetooth".

 

What it'll do is it will turn on its Bluetooth receiver and will look for devices with its bluetooth radio transmitter switched on. Once you find your computer's name** on your phone, press "Send".

 

Your XP computer will bring up this dialog box when your phone pushes files to it:

This, and all without downloading additional software.

P.S.: This method also works for other Bluetooth devices other than mobile phones.
