:cheer: finally got the chance to ride my bike out during the long weekend. But hor, my engine kept stalling. I began to ask friends what could be the reason. Most of them said might need to change the spark plug. Then one friend asked me if I switched on the choke. :cheeky: I then realised what caused the problem. I didn't off the choke throughout the journey. But I'm sending my bike for a checkup soon. So what's the moral of the story?? :sian: Must ride often. If not, may really forget how to ride sia.

How to know when to off the choke when riding? Coz I tried to turn it off when I rode for a short distance but the engine grew weak and the bike started to slow down.

I noticed if I leave the choke on while reading, the bike like no power leh...

So I only on choke if bike hard to start, after start oredi, I rev engine for a while then off the choke, then continue reving for a while more before moving off...

Mine is quite opposite from urs. The engine stalled only when I stopped at traffic lights, at pedestrain crossing. If it's a long wait @ either one, I would rev but when the choke is on, my bike is like damm powerful.

Let me quote from Wiki and you judge whether its good or not to leave the choke on all the time...

"Once the engine is warm (from combustion), opening the choke valve restores the carburetor to normal operation, supplying fuel and air in the correct stoichiometric ratio for clean, efficient combustion."

Actually my engine stalled once when I went rounding alone when I just got my bike. It happened coz I on the choke throughout the journey so I ensured that it would not happen again. But I forgot abt that lesson. But this time it was different. The bike seemed more powerful than ever when choke is on. So I dunno if it's a good idea to on the choke or not. Like got advantage and disadvantage.
