I am planning my way up to Thailand this August 2006 year and would you guys mind sharing the statistics such as;

 

1) Which is the best route to take from Singapore and from Malaysia to Thailand?

 

2) What is the most important kit I need to bring with me?

 

3) How long is the journey its takes 2 reach there?

 

4) How many ‘stops’ should I take throughout the whole journey?

 

5) Which is the best budget hotel in Thailand and park my bike wif no worries?

 

6) What time is the Thailand Immigration opens?

 

7) Where is the best and safest place for bikers to hang out and to park

their bikes?

 

8) What to expect throughout this journey?

 

9) Which brand of petrol is the best to use in Thailand?

 

10) Any other important tips to share?

 

11) Any bike tows tel no. in malaysia or thailand?

i think the SBF physic department is working a 5 day week so i guess u would have to provide us with information on your ride and which part of thailand would u be going

I am riding up tentative on the 22nd this month on my cb250 with lao-po da ren

 

-Will ride to hatyai straight stay a few days

- head towards krabi stay a day or two (join some island hoping boat trip)

- ride to phuket

 

Wanna share your itinary?

 

I researching where to stay and all the nice makan place now...

Also address of bikeshop/accessories shop to visit in hatyai

most of which are not listed in the forum

Day 2 (06 Aug) - Hatyai --------------Phuket (Reach Phuket in late noon)

Day 3 (07 Aug) - Phuket (Explore Phuket Town with rental bike)

Day 4 (08 Aug) - Phuket ------------- Krabi (Reach Krabi in late noon)

Day 5 (09 Aug) - Krabi (Visit some of the island by boat tour)

Day 6 (10 Aug) - Krabi ( Explore Krabi Town with rental bike)

Day 7 (11 Aug) - Krabi -------------Hatyai Town

Day 8 (12 Aug) - Hatyai (Fabricate bike seat ...etc)

Day 9 (13 Aug) - Hatyai --------------Singapore

 

Petrol Stop

GP Esso ------- Seremban RSA ( approx. 272km)

Seremban -----------Sg. Perak RSA ( approx. 290km)

Sg. Perak RSA ----------Bt. Kayu Hitam ( approx. 249km)

 

We can discuss about the R&R if u want more R&R.

I go with my old lady only... lone ranger

Budget not fix cos I dun know how many days really.

We Planned for a week but if certain place is nice along the way we

will stay over a day or two, also when coming back we will likely do penang and genting.

Lastly if u wanna save on hotels and stay in HOSTELS or guesthouse instead, go to hostelworld book...some of the rooms very neat and cheap S'pore $20 for double aircon room in patong beach (phuket only) can see photo too

 

Some of the terrace house u can park bike outside ur room lol

zz whole day at hatyai

 

Also phuket town got few helmet shops... nice cheap helmets. Me bought

quite a few each trip to keep/collect. Got counterstrike lookalike riot police ones

and thai police and traffic police ones (which im wearing now) and many others.

If u bargain about $15 each. (REaD : No safety one )

 

Dun worry about not being able to find address of bike shop, seat wrap shops

etc..find any tuk tuk or bike taxi..20 baht or so they bring u there:thumb:
