if u go in and get caught with the fuel gauge less than 3/4 or even 2/3 or even 1/2 => fine.

quite honestly if u 2/3 go in they will let u go. 1/2 like that they will give u warning. less than half is a customs compound fine + must turn back

Why dont you guys go JB and import home petrol in barrels? Say they are gifts u shopped for friends. Put the barrels in a gift box to make it look more legit.

dont be ridiculous, there are laws and customs duties governing what items and in what quantities can bring into singapore. not to mention malaysia customs also govern what items can be brought out. and petrol in large quantities outside your fuel tank definitely in the list of malaysian rules that cannot bring out. if you said 'bottle' or 'canister' of petrol mebbe still can, but you want to bring out gift-wrapped barrels?

 

you think the lorries carrying large quantities of stuff dont have permits and/or custom duties and/or taxes to pay? or maybe it never occurred to them to gift wrap their imported goods to avoid custom duties and taxes?

Yeah they do, because enforcers lax. Try it at jb customs? Even you escape msian customs, no way you escape s'pore customs. Bottomline, laws and restrictions exist.

From the Singapore custom website, the official answer is "motor vehicle". Motorcycles were not stated "exempted" from this rule.

Although you will see this sign that say "cars", they still can say that "this warning sign is to remind car owners, but doesn't mean bikes are exempted from this rule."

 

In the past, there have been bikers that kanna this check. Tank got emptied to find out how many litres of petrol inside.

can argue back it says 'cars' and not 'vehicles'. Also 'driver' and not 'rider'.

 

So going by Singapore's logic that only have U-turn sign then can U-turn, so If sign says 'cars' should mean 'cars' only hahaha

 

Besides some bikes got no fuel gauge, how to check? Open up tank and see also not accurate because some tanks are irregular shaped. Empty the fuel tank, how are they gonna do it? If have to dismantle the bike, I dont think they have authority to do that, unless they have a warrant

No need argue liao, just called customs to confirm, and ans is - "only applicable to cars", so motorcycles are exempted from this rule.

Yes they do. I have been issued a fine and to U-Turn back to sg because I was 1 bar short of 3/4
