There is a word call "hype" meaning : "Publicise in an exaggerated and often misleading manner"...works both ways. It used and applied in many ways and such as in advertising. Much like software as in "vaporware"..meaning, the software doesn't even exist yet but advertised to feel the respond of the potential market for it.

This is just a video..may be made in house or paid by competitor to wit out the others. One thing obvious is that there are more brands on the market that claim the same benefits was not seen in the video like one example fro X-1R company. Wheather this video speaks truth, I'm not in teh position to conclude however, its a more for all to see and choose to decide for themself. I only rely on basis reasoning as in..say, if those product does not proved to be of any benefits, those company would have been sued many times over by now. They are still on shelves everywhere and not cheap either. Another basis is..if one have not tryied the product or have it used right, one should know that he/she is not in the position to commend or for a start, having sceptical doubts or at all talk down a product.

Again...all this video to me is very subjective...I tried what works and stop at what don't..not that they work..but how good one compare to the others. A little research and/or read up on their "white paper" according to tehir manufacturer would be helpful..rather than just watch a video claiming theirbest test equipment use and running on a Honda Civic..giving me the impression that "clips" video footage are used and for alll I know..that Honada civic may have mechanical problems...>LOL!

Anyway..like I said..its an "American Idol vote in your choice " thingy, half the time the result is unpredictable and again, "seeing is believing"..never try..best to keep the comment to yourself.

Without prejudice.

JUST A VIDEO?! It's Fifth Gear shown on DISCOVERY CHANNEL. That's as convincing as anything could get?

X-1R? That you'll hear, next up X-1R, yes you heard it! -2% LOL:thumb:

Basically those companies nv get sue cos those ppl who buy their products over and over again believe it works and those who dont, stop buying it. Will you fork out lotsa money to sue the fruit seller if his apple or mango not as sweet as he claims?

Maybe you have found something that suits you, but how about the money that u spent looking for it?

I'd rather save those pennies for an exhaust that works for real, that adds real horse, even IF running on 92. That's just me.

Octane boost is and always has been a waste of money. People have this idea that the higher the octane, the more power you'll have.

Wrong...the more octane you have the more power you can have if you have the engine to make that power. S4 have a relatively low com engine...Unless you run high com gasket and run advance timing...Engine longevity aside...

If you go with higher than recommended/necessary octane, you won't do anything positive.

If you decide to go to lower octane than recommended/necessary, you run the risk of detonation (damaged engine), or at least knocking/ECU compensation which will lower your fuel economy and your power.

Now increased petrol prices we are complaining...But adding $2 worth "snake oil" every tank we wont complain...? I hope the myths had been cleared. At least regarding the use of higher octane..

So shall we start a thread regarding oil additive since people had swore by themselves it would work.

Maybe we should start by shooting oil engineers because they had not done a good job...As the folks here start mixing their ultimate formulas with "XXXX oil addivative"..

I think being down to earth and realistic is the best. No additive is gonna prolong the oil lifespan by twice or whatsoever.

A happy engine is one that has regular service intervals, oil changes along with the filter.

For the fuel part, the more funny things you add, the less fuel/energy there is for the engine to utilise isnt it? Kinda inversely proportionate.
