3 possibilities.

 

1) most likely, ur clutch plates has worn out. 100++ at K&T. if the metal plates spoil too, then its about 200++. recommended to change engine oil too. in the mean time, u might want to try adjusting ur clutch lever free play. try making the biting point further.

 

2) a loose chain will cause noise and jerk the whole bike. most motorshops do this for free, provided they use the proper tools. beware, some shops use hammer and screw driver which may damage the hub.

 

3) worst circumstance is the whole clutch housing spoil. considering the fact that RVFs are between 8 to 12 years old now. this cost a bomb.

Thx snakeman! had new chain set and clutch plates. Think i adjust the freeplay 2moro.

Worried but the clutch housing. Think go down bike shop and open up the whole thing, take out clutch plates and ask him to fix back again. hope i dont get the bomb...

luckily tried on a small area 1st, if not, everyday see the dull mark, will curse and swear. haha. Easy for you to engage 2nd gear from neutral with engine on?

why not, from neutral can go only to 1st and 2nd gear.

 

just to let u know, new chain doesnt mean that chain wont get loose. especially in NSR SP, chain gets loose all the time. due to the single swingarm design. but not so fast in RVF.

3 months ago.... a FQ plate was gg for 8K+. Original paintwork.

 

7.5K all depends on condition lor...if its good, iz a good price. But if u are getting from a bikeshop..be prepared to come up more for misc fees as 7.5K is just machine price.

Yo dude,

 

"jam" in which rpm? does occur sometimes or every single time around a certain rpm?

 

Assuming your tank is not rusty and in a state of neglect....I cant fathom how rain will go into fuel tank la.....unless you come into petrol kiosk in a big rain and straight away open up your tank cover...or u open up tank in the rain?!

 

One way for water to mess up yr carburetion is when rain water gets ingested in your airbox. Our stock airbox intake snout has 2 or 3 pieces of water inhibiting foam. They get old and useless as the bike ages...and when u get caught out in the heavy rain while riding, rain water gets ingested quite easily...especially nowadays monsoon season.

 

Also..how long since you last serviced the carbs/sparkplugs and airfilter? any of these items pass thier scheduled maintenance intervals can cause the problems u have.

Yea...mine does the same too...although i dunno how loud is loud

 

But everytime kick 1st gear definitely got a slight tak sound.

 

I'm able to kick to neutral from 1st or 2nd gear with ease. If its difficult to kick to neutral or only does so when u give it revs..then its time to get the clutch plates checked.

hey shay...my problem solved...i think i put in too much booster...just now i go down...hop on my bike..qand gif the bike a hard rev to red rpm for 4 gear...i repeat the procedure until the engine started to becum smooth...and then i go pump in more petrol to make the booster to fuel ratio becum lower...now the bike becum quite smooth le...thanks shay

har? U add addictives to your fuel ah? Of a 101 things that can contribute to the symtoms...i would never have guessed this.

the addictives (booster) u put in....effective as advertised? What does it do? Boost power? Boost octane? or for better milage?

the booster name is F12020. it really gif a lot of power to my bike when i use it. the power is like when u just came out from a carb wash and had done a gd tunning...and the power really increase as days goes by. getting more and mroe power each day. thats y i too greedy...go and add more..then got the "got power..no power" feeling..clifford frm K&T recomened me..all i can say..its a gd buy...well at least it really work wonder for my bike. 1 bottle fpr 8 dollar. 280ml. 1 cap of booster for 4 litre of petrol.

ya, juz have new set about 3 weeks ago. Now getting loose. can hear chain sound when bike at high gear at low speed. eg, 5th gear @ 40km/hr, then throttle, chain rattle sound comes out.

 

hmm, Sometimes i have difficulty engaging to 2nd gear from neutral in idle. easy for you?
