is it a must to change the oil filter every 5000km?

i thought change engine oil can already

Usually, oil filters are made to last around 7,000km. But since you do your oil change roughly from 5,000km - 6,000km, you can't change the filter between the second round and refill back the oil right?

Motorcycle engines break down the oil relatively fast and with Singapore weather climate conditions and dirt, the filter is bound to get clogged up fast.

A note though, try to get the original Honda Oil filter Made In Japan. It is in black. This is only slightly more expensive than the blub one made in Thailand but the filtration quality is much better therefore making your oil retian its additive powers longer. Think of it as bike Viagra!

Yes, I agree with Mr. Jeff. Chicken runs for gas across the Second Link plus grabbing food in the process is fine as we are not in Singapore where it is more strict should we get caught. However, I must stress that in future any riding outings to the second link must be done in a responsible and orderly fashion while still allowing the element of fun. We don't have to speed and show off like a crazed lunatic who just escaped isolation. I am saying this in general and not saying anyone here actually practices such trips in the preceeding fashion.

We all know of the sad incident that happened to a fellow RVF rider about two weeks ago and I certain do not want to see anything close like that happening again, especially when Tuas and beyond is concerned.

Having said that, I do not recommend performing stunts and 'taking extreme corners' in SINGAPORE. Not only is it the wrong place to do it but think, do you want to risk getting hauled over by the cops? No worth the trouble I reckon.

Soon perhaps next year, I am working with a friend who has connections in PG to get Force V4 registered members affordable track time on a group basis plus I am getting a track instructor (who is more experienced than me o_O ) to also conduct lessons at an affordable price to all FV4-OCSG (Force V4 Owners' Club SG) members too. :shades:

For the time being, any outing I feel should be moderated especially under the FV4 banner. My concern in doing this is to eventually promote a good image for bikers all round and alike. Together we may not be able to do much but at least we can contribute to make a difference. Already 'our tour de force' last Sat plus our good behaviour both on and off the road has won accreditation across the board.

I salute all the RVF riders who were part of our inaugral gathering and you guys are the 'founding' members of FV4-OCSG. I am proud to be part of you and act as your "organiser/administrator".

:cheer:

Hi Tachi, glad to see that we finally have a guy who can really start to get thing organized.Too bad have no chance to meet up wif u last week for the mass outing. Hopefully can meet up wif u soon.Think there are some other ex RVF rider that would like to know u too( hint Ken:cheeky: ) Love ur suggestion that hard riding shld be done at the track.Hopefully this can come true then I can learn more from u.:cheeky:

Anyway Daprei, u shld really get a full face helmet esp when goin to M'sia.Much more protection. For servicing, there are quite a few shops that are competent of doing RVf but most here will ask u to go to K & T. So up to ur preference. But be prepared to pay cos RVF is quite EX to maintain.:goodluck:

aiyo..if Ken was still in the RVF group, he will come and preach you about FF till u :faint: So now i will act on his behalf... :cheeky:

But seriously...even if one is riding a scooter..its good to have a FF on.

Dun need a costly 'branded' replica one, many of the guys here swears by OGK which is pretty good quality and quite affordable. On the other hand...Arai Rapide ORs plain colors wont cost u more than $500.

I think they had some deals on OGK or HJC FFs at the carnival right? Do try to get one especially if the club is taking its outings across the 2ndlink.

when u guys go service bike can call me along.. bcos i dunno go where to service.. until now.. still haven service... chain oso haven lub.. very dry... hmmm...wash bike oso can.. i think the last time that i wash is at jb.. few months back le...

:btw: lube chain can DIY la..no need to go motordiams. For the list of To-Go and NOT-to-GO motordiams, can PM me...dun wish to name them publicly.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding 2ndlink trips. I know Its kinda difficult to ride in formation and be guai guai when all wants to go there n "clear carbon" ...

so i think the general guideline still applies....for those who wana chiong and test thier top can go on ahead on the RH most lane [bold] when it is safe and clear to do so [/bold]. And never tailgate another High speed rider in this instance.

For those who just wana ride at a comfortable slower pace can do so in formation on the LEFT hand most lane with a lead rider and a sweeper as usual.

Never overtake another rider dangerourly close coz the average speeds we will be doiing is around 140kmph. We must constantly think about the safety of other riders as well.

The idea is to go and come back in one piece. 2 Rvfians had passed away on the road within a period of 2 weeks. Nuff said..

by the way, does the leader wants to reconsider the title renaming to FORCE 2V Square(actually a small no2 on top right of V). V4 sounds very super 4. just a thought. anyway, its ur idea. since rvf is running to 2 v twin cylinders, i thought otherwise.

regarding the outing, my suggestion went overboard. i think we must make it a fun outing that we can remember about. top speed is out. lets make it a day when we can all chat and joke about. pls bring ur galfriends. or we will look like a mass gay rvf outing. no gal, hire hostess.

lets convoy second link. bring whichever rvf we know.

i also feel we can come out with a sticker. i have a friend who can do custom stickers at a reasonable price. maybe we can make a small decal, and have it on our windshields. or we can chip in money and make a rvf outing tee too.

Har?! That means me no GF to bring out cannot join the outing liao lor??

anyhoo..regarding your suggestion...er Force V2 Square sounds.... strange. But then, we are a subsidy of the Original Force V4 japan...hence the name was not coined by anyone here.

I tink the stickers and Tshirts will def be part of the Club's short term goals.

Hello Fellow V-Force-fians,

I have someone who wants to give away his RVF, FS-Plate.. say he cannot tahan the maintenance. Giving away FREE, but installment is left 3 & 1/2 yr to pay $275 at Albert Motors. I guess he must have used it for 6 months only. I dunno the condition of the bike as I've not seen it yet but anyone interested can let me know all right. Cheers & Merry Christman & Happy New Year & Selamat Hari Raya Haji... bl;ah blah..

Erm...the word Force V4 comes from the stock VFR750R, RVF750R, RVF400R side fairings. That is where the name came from.

V4 means that a four cylinder engine is arranged in a "V" formation, making it narrow in width but very balanced in power delivery and vibrations compared to a conventional in line 4 engine like the Super Four. This is an engineering term to describe configuration layouts of engines. Others are like flat four, in line 6, V6, V8, V10, V12 which are usually used for cars and trucks.

Another interesting thing to note is that although the V4 engine in the current Honda bikes may look like 2 V-Twins slapped together, its really an in-line four split into a "V" shape. The firing order is one continious circle making in a 360 degree crank. The older V4s in the early 80s were 180 degrees cranks, which means their firing order made it exactly like 2 V-Twins stuck together.

So Force V4 will stay because.....that is what our bikes is anyway...

Good day Ladies and Gentlemen.

I am proposing a meetup on the 31st of December in the evening to usher in the New Year. We can meet at some place with enough space for 25+ ???? bikes and still not be such the center of attraction from both the public and the Police.

Any suggestions?

The next meeting will also be the official registration to F4-OCSG. Members will fill up a form which I will then keep to make a data base. These members will also get their Group changed to "Force V4" in the alvatar. (When Andy approves it). Also everyone present will be given a member number and I am planning to print a club sticker.
