Hi ppl....

From what i heard, Inverting the gearings is actually quite simply re-installing the gear push rods in the opposite way. Dont cost a dime and can DIY one. But i have no idea what are the step by step instructions.

ANother issue we may be dealing with is safety.

Why do racers in MotoGP have inverted gear shifts? whereby kicking down is actually shifting up and kicking up is shifting down? Fast upshifts is only one of the reasons, another reason is becoz Racers stay in the prone-down position on thier bikes most of the time.

Our human anatomy and the extremely high foot pegs makes it ackward to kick up gears on acceleration in the prone position. That is why it is not only faster but more comfortable for them to shift this way. Gets rid of missed shifts too.

But if you are street rider 3/4 of the time, i tink you will not stay in that superman position most of the time..so i dun think this is quite necessary in fact, a dangerous thing to do. Becoz you will require alot of mental effort to get used to the new setup and change your old programed method of changing gears. Say in the heat of the moment, u have to E brake..you might instintively kick down (shift up) the gears and reduce yr engine braking effect. Or if you enter the corners too hot, instintively reverting to your old habits is a rather dangerous affair too.

So in this light, i just dun think its necessary unless your bike is a dedicated track bike.

it is easier switching to inv gearing to standard. i had a hard time riding rvf for 2 weeks i had to keep focusing on kicking up.

normally when u enter a road, u want to pick up speed fast. kickin down gear helps u achieve that. when u enter corner and want to reduce gear, normally we reduce, then clutch out, then reduce until decieded gear. kickin up to reduce is ok.

trust me, it take a day or two to get used to inv gearing and it is shiok

the first thing i got the rvf was i tried to do inv gearing. quite impossible as the shift rod for standard is above the stand bracket. once inv, it is touching the bolts. i am trying out another method today and will let u guys know about it soon

anyone knows 4t distributor. my dad is a car mech and says that his boss can offer workshop space. if we order 4t in big bundles say at least 10 bikes(25 bottles), and the oil filter i got source to get it cheaper(waiting for sample).

i can do engine oil and filter servicing at a cheaper rate. thats provided i can get 4t cheaper.

maybe when they young they use to ride wif inverting gear n no becouse if comfortable n to reduce the engine braking

Huh?? No lor....it is definitely not becoz they started on inverted gears young and got used to it. And EVEN IF they did, the primary reason behind MotoGP and WSB using the inverted gear selection is becoz of human anatomy.

and i did not say inverted gears is for reducing engine braking.

Maybe you wana read the post one more time?

ya, it has nothing to do with engine braking. it's just the style u kick gears.

before i put breather, jam always half or more.

highway slightly lesser than 1/4

after breather, jam around 1/4

highway slightly lesser than 1/4

open radiator cap and look for thick white stains like mucus. if not, still ok. by the way, i just changed coolant on my friend bike that day.

around 2L. need to buy 2 bottle coolant

Issit cos the chain is loose? I experienced metal knocking sounds recently as well, turns out after tightening the chain, the sound disappeared

And to the issue on temperature.... Mine gets up to 3/4 and more in jams. Expressway normally 1/4 or so. Btw, I'm using Engine Ice, doesnt seem to help much either. So, temp rising high in RVFs is very common. When its raining and you happen to be riding slowly, you will find that the raindrops evaporate on impact of the radiator. Serious! Mine is like dat! like steam rising.

erm fren told me k&N air filter helps to take in air faster n together wif breather tube its more effective to get low temp .. but mine still high at times so im thinking why..

just came back from second link. the other time, i go with filbert was raining. then 2 days ago i went to pump petrol. whack until 190. then got power cut.

today, add resistor to the sensor wires and clipped it off. no more power cut. manage to touch the km/h mark on the speedo. no idea what speed it was. most likely buying a sigma speedo tomorrow

the filter is more for performance. the breather is to help reduce the oil temp.
