Hi there guys,

Recently i noticed that there is slight leakage from the top of my engine which in the end resides outside the engine oil slump ( The place where the engine oil stays in the engine ). I asked my mechanic to check and he said that the leakage is from my Cam. He told me to change the gasket. Got a few question for you guys regarding this.

 

1) If i do valve clearance they have to remove the cam and replace the gasket rite ?

 

2) How much does the gasket cost roughly ?

do VC, shims are accessible w/o removal of cams/camshaft. yes, the top gasket has to be replaced.

well other then the valve clearance sign i believe all rvf have click click sound.. so actually not necessary a must to do valve clearance. unless u really a person who wan top performance then go do lo but i dunno if the click click sound of ur bike is the same as wat i talking about not

best is go to ur trusted shop ask them check it out... solve ur problem.

Oki thanks alot for the reply gryffindor88. I think i rather do valve clearance one shot so as to replace the top gasket. Will be much more worth it rather than i juz pay labour and ask the mech change gasket.

hmmx i found tat my bike got 'click click sound ' leh coming from e rear break there ... not too loud also leh donno y.. den after i ride home i try hear again like no more why aH? but my bike i try to whack still got power...somemore is wif pillion leh .

 

The ticking should be coming from engine there. ur rare brake there got ticking sound, could it be chain loose le.. -.-"

 

I have also came to know that after doing valve clearance, the ticking sound might be still there. wait till fri i get back my bike i will see.. hhehe.

 

don wan sticker la. imagine i upgrade to big cow. stick rvf sticker -.-. abit weird lo. somemore touch wood if buang den need to order sticker again. if t-shirt can last v long lo. can wear out anytime anywhere
