XX - no. of weeks while YY - yr of manufacture. Use that to compare its storage duaration.Typically, tyres can be stored for max 1.5-2 yrs. Obviously the longer it is has its own depreciated value upon it.

cos no pple buy them and they just put there.

and its risky to use as they sell to us without us knowing.

how to tell between a good and new tyre and a stored long time tyre with lifespan finishing but still look new? haha

How can I find out where this 4 digit code is stamped on the tyre(s) itself?

This is in case I get another pair of tyres.

I don't want the mechs to see that I'm proactively checking the date to make sure the tyres are worthy or not.

An RVF typically needs to be warmed up for 10 minutes or so.

What I usually do is switch it on and let it idle for 5 minutes, then ride it out slow for the next 5 minutes. You should see the needle budge past the "Cold" mark.

 

Just make sure it doesn't stay at "C" even after extended periods of riding.

Either the temperature gauge is spoilt, or that something is seriously wrong.

Sensor might be spoilt. Regarding the sound, if u start the bike only u hear the sound or after sometime? If u think its the fan, just off and on the switch (w/o starting) u will hear the fan operating for a few seconds at least. If no sound at all, most prob its not ur fan.

its best you go down to any bike shop and get the latest insurace pricing for various insurance companies. Price vary based on age, riding exp, overloading due to accident claims,NCD (10-15%) 2nd/3rd party etc.

 

i was quoted $645 for 3rd party. age is 19. yrs of experience is 1yr. no ncd. bike year of reg is 1997.

eh i no intention to play wif him , but i riding lane 1 at ard 120km/h den behind got 1 accord flash and tailgate me so CB , den beside me is evo den i speed up den e evo also rev up sia . den i dulan i drop gear open more trottle pass them cut thru car den i relax at lane 3 liao .. den e evo purposely pass me on lane2 , den i see he infront lane clear i change back to lane1 den cb e accord flash me again . den i really BTH overtake them all till very infront (cos got some car i bike easy) den i jitao relax e most left lane till e evo and accord play liao . dono is fren or purposely disturb me i pillion my gf don wan go care him lolz.

 

 

 

for mine 2nd party NTUC wif 10% NCD age 19 bike year1999(produce) 2000(1st register) quoted $99*++ . 1098.** for no NCD .

Or do you go to their office directly? (eg.: NTUC, AXA, etc...)

 

Cuz i think these kinds of premiums are quite expensive compared to a few years ago.

Regarding the tyre issues:

Things to look out for:-

- Cracking on the side wall of the tyre during flexing

- Distortion of tyre tread

- Deformation of the carcass of the tyre

 

Before the year 2000, all tyres DOP was indicated with a triangle symbol with 3 digit code. Example : 309 - meaning its produced on 30th week of yr 1999.

With effect of yr 2000, the coding is now 4 digits: WWYY indicating no of weeks followed by year.

 

The code can be found on the sidewall of the tyre. Refer to picture below

my baby's temperature didn't get hot easily.... is it good or bad? coz i warm up for 10-15mins.. temp still remain below C... hmmm..

 

no need to warm up so long la.. infact long mins warm up no use one... 5 mins is more then enough... when u on the move slowly play with the rpm til some distance b4 u fully whack ur bike
