the screeching sound sometimes due to brake dust stuck between calipers rotor, so have sound (can get mech to use the air gun or wadever to blow it clean). As for brake pad finish, you can try to look in between the calipers, shine a torch or something and see if the brake pad is completely flat (meaning no longer got two protruding pieces, only one nice flat) tat means no more liaos. If still got the gap between the two protruding pieces, meaning still have lor.

 

but they test my brake today at vicom pass. so means still have?

Hard to say. You gotta physically check and see if still have anot. Otherwise, you might wan to ask your mech to help you see. Shouldn't cost anything at all. If flat then replace, otherwise just continue using lor.. Don't risk using until botak liaos then scratch rotors.

2) Pinko - 260km

3) jus^ride - 280km

4) natgw - 400km

5) fufu - 500km

6) Danzi - 250+- km/h (sometimes whack lolz)

The brake pads will have lines smiliar to tyre threads(Only diff is it's a silt or straight line), can be seen if u use a torchlight to shine directly inbetween the calipers opening.

 

If the lines can be seen then the pad is still ok but do change once the line is gone or near gone..

anyway guys how to determine if brake pad is due for change?mine recently i notice when break stoppin got a "squirk" sound ..

'squeeking' sound when braking is usually due to brake dust accumulated, not a big problem except the sound might be irritating.

cleaning of discs will help, but it will re-occur when it has accumulated enuff dust again.. changing to better brake pads might help thou.

 

rvf disc brake cost a $550 a pair fyi.. price may vary frm shop to shop

warm up alr is abt 1.2 1.3... nope it's nt fluctuating... try to keep it at that standard range... i never touch the idle knob ever since fufu adjust for me. always press one time throttle abit can start alr if park whole day never use..

12) imfarhan 180km (before reserve) with reserve around 205. can hardly reach 210. cos my bike ever die twice without petrol! haha.no petrol indicator so leceh. wahhh. and i didnt know rvf fuel consumption so good? can go till 280?

Err...

 

To check your brakepads, there's a thin piece of "W" shaped metal access cover (don't know what that's called) sitting above each of your Nissin calipers. Once pinched and pulled out of there, it will reveal the brakepads.

 

Just like some members have guided you guys on how to do brakepad checking, there's a groove on the brakepad that cuts right through the middle. That acts as a wear indicator.

A spent brakepad is one that wore out so much, that you can't even see that groove anymore...you're simply staring at a flat brake pad.

One more thing about brakepads, if you gradually feel that your braking gets lousy, directly check the brakepads for rust, or whether they are slippery and "glazed."

 

I have had rust form up on one of my brakepad too. Caused it to squeak.
