Troubleshoot ur Super4!

hi all,

I ride a Vtec 1. today when i ride my bike back from m'sia, something wrong has happened.

 

Rode at 140 for 1hr. the bike suddenly lose power and drop to very low RPM.

When the speed drop to 30~40 km/h, it gained back power. but i noticed that i cant rev more than 7k RPM, else it drop back again.

 

Can anyone advise me what wrong with my bike? Spark plug? or Vtec?

Hi all,

 

noticed that water can seep into fork seal. after which fork now got squeaky sounds... but dun see/feel any oil leaking out. So how to tell if the water got into fork? need to re-build the fork or jus re-seal?

just service the forks.

i'm experiencing some difficulties when drop down gear eg. from 6 to 2nd gear

when u kick down the gear it simply doesnt drop u need to do the half clutch for ever gear u drop till the 2nd gear. Has anyone ever experience this prob before?

 

went to Boon Siew and as usual they say its normal..but i dun experience this when first own the bike

my bike is a 6yr old v-tec, whenever i ride at gear 4 and above, there is always a machine like sound, as if some metal part was scrapping each other.

 

cud it be clutch plates?

i rule out my chain because chain n sprockets r still new.

my super 4 when i cluth in the sound of engine if beri silence , when i cluth out. I hear quite loud sound similiar lk fan turning on the cluth tt side. I dunnoe wat wrong with it?

 

Issit the cluth plate botak or sumtink else?

there seem to be some prob with my vtec1. whenever i go above 7k rpm, thats when the valve opens, my bike starts to jerk mildy. jerks can be felt by rider, not by pillion. but the speed still maintains.

also, ive topped up my fron fork, but it stil seems to be very soft. whenever apply front brakes, would be jerky when stopping. cant even e-brake, cos will jerk badly.

my rear suspensions seems to be too soft. tends to wobble, and ill feel like im on a horse gallopin around, especially when im cornering.

so whats my prob exactly?

do i need to replace my suspensions or just service? how wld both cost?

my front brakes tend to be stuck. can still hear brakes rubbing on disc even when not depressed. how much will it cost to replace the pumps?

I don't know about the VTEC jerking, but have you checked your tire inflation pressure levels recently?

yes i did. 240 front, 270 rear, im using sportec m1. i think maybe the suspensions. will try to fix that, then see if it persists.

@lavys: the thermo sensor on the radiator is spoiled. You can connect a wire from its wire to ground, the fan will run. Change it only

 

@lau: change fork oil and seals

 

@sjay09: if your bike can not run faster although you come to 7k rpm, it means that the problem from your air filter.

To check Vtec solenoid, you can use a 12V light to connect the wire of solenoid and ground. When it works, the light will turn on. When Vtec open, you can hear the louder sound from exhaust.

yesterday morning i had some trouble starting my bike and needed to open throttle and press the ignition at the same time. then when the bike started it does not idle. some i try to start again and this time i hold onto the throttle and let it rev for a short time (abt 3-4mins) @ 3000rpm and when the bike warmed up it was able to idle but at a lower rpm then usual.

then after work, in the evening, i had the same problem so i applied the same technique to start the bike. but this time i realised that there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust. brought the bike down to workshop and changed the engine oil, spark plug, oil filter and air filter. after servicing, problem was gone. but this morning problem got worst. i took a longer time to get the bike to idle and the idling is very erratic(500rpm ~ 1100rpm). during riding and coming to a stop, the idling sometimes drop until below 500rpm and sometimes the bike jus dies. what could be the problem?

Guys, just to share with you.

 

My bike is okie now after i send to boon siew. They change my clutch plate & clutch casing. Seems to be a lot of parts they change as written on their service records. When ask them, they jus say this 2 important parts was change. So guys if u had experience the same as me, u know what to do.

Any body know how to secure Tank bra for super 4 ah ? Just got my Tank bra.

The 2 strap in front is it secure under the tank to the main frame of the bike ?

hey guys..i hope u can help me on something. recently my S4 is giving me the vibes. somewhere below, whenever i ride it, there is this knocking feeling. not a constant vibration but a 'knock' sensation. like something loose and keep hitting the bike. i've check the outside.. nothing is loose. i've change the chain and the front sproket, still the same thing. belorw part of the bike. u guys have experience this before?

Hi all,

today went to service my bike n change 4 spark plugs. found 2 of them coated with black oil. Bike shop told me need to open engine to replace the 2 lose/worn plug cover/cap. Any 1 know what is that?

what is worn plug?? It is not affected to oil leakage or coated oil. You should check intake or exhaust valves retain cap and guide tube

my plug caps are wet, which causes me to run only on 3 plugs. its wet as in, can see a bit of water dripping at the rubber tube. anything to suspect? block crack?

there is a fan, but if your engine is not that heated up your fan will not move... bike shop knows how to test if the fan work or not...(make sure they dun charge you for this)

loose chain, tyre loose or your front and rear bearing gone... ( to wat i know)

till my knowledge is that the hook part too your tank and pull the strap to secure it to your tank...or you might wanna post this question at AMK riders, wsr or esr to ask them... or another alter is to pM the moderator
