Regardless of whether they on blinking light or siren, just give way to them. Who knows you might be the cause of a life.

Just give way to them if they are behind you . If you know that they change lane even before you got time to let them pass, I am sure they driver will know. His vision is just not focus on you alone. In an emergency, any available lane that allows him to pass through he will use it. OF course, if YOU as the driver or rider had let them pass through, then this question is out in the first place. Anyway they will take note the vehicle no (depending on how serious the driver has block lane) and then retrieve the footage when they return to their base and lodge the summon.

sometime they only on the blinking light, they nv on the siren, so is it counted as urgent?

Usually they just keeping the flashing beacons on to show that they are coming and you should get out of the way. That is the signal of an emergency vehicle claiming right of way.

They won't switch on the sirens so as not to make noise needlessly, unless the driver is of the view that the ones in front don't see the flashing beacons and need audio signals as well.

He who hesitates is lost!

Don't worry, as long as you don't purposely block their vehicle it's okay. I only know fire engine and ambulance has an onboard camera for these things. Will auto record but the driver/officer must make a report manually to "complain" and use the footages as evidence. I've seen these footages and am surprised and dismayed that there are some drivers out there who purposely block emergency vehicles. Btw, not all emergency cases will have sirens. At night in HDB areas or when conveying patients who need to be calm, the sirens will not go off, but the lights will. Bottom line, just give way when you see them la.

as long u see them coming from ur back with siren & lights , juz signal left to give way. They wont snap ur number plate as sometimes i onli heard the siren then immediately change lane so far no summon has been issue to me jus my 2 cents tot .......

i encountered this situation once. i was on the right lane and this ambulance was behind me. but i couldnt give way cos the cars on my left die2 dunt want to give way to me to keep left to let the ambulance thru. so i jus signal my intention to keep left to let the ambulance thru. in the end i jus speed up and find a safe space and then keep left. check my mirror and the ambulance driver wave his hand to say thank you.

Some drivers have no regards for this.. I've also encountered once and the car didn't even give way.. The ambulance have to change lanes and then speed off.. Seeing this kinda thing will make you  .

Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...

normally the civil vehicle will give warning...by acticvating the siren and warning lights...and then if the accused is not not giving ways...they will take down the number plate.and handover to the traffic police dept.

I hope those jokers who purposely dun give way to emergency vehicles, die on the road while waiting for an ambulance to come and rescue their worthless lives. Only then might they realise their stupidity.

Being an SCDF regular fireman myself, I can assure you so long as u make an effort to give way (signalling, changing lanes, etc), nothing will happen to you.

Yes, ALL SCDF vehicles (except the Fire Bikes) have an onboard videocam, situated right smack in the middle of the front windshield. It's able to capture moving images in all 3 lanes, assuming that particular Emergency Vehicle is in the middle lane. If the driver has difficulty going through as a direct result of an irresponsible / blur-sotong fella in front, the onboard videocam can capture the plate number.

This will then be reported to the Senior Driver or OC of the fire station and, upon reviewing the footage, will then report the matter to both SCDF HQ and Traffic Police.
