abt the cockpit thingy...have to put on holdla....budget lari la...hehehe..thinking putting a fog first....

.did u change ur shield??how much u bought for ur hnb box??thinking of changing my current monokey to hnb...

nah using stock shield...yeah came with the bike...lucky me...

Hnb box is from garage bough at $3++...hb rack at Mtecknik $160...

I just made the changes from monolock to hnb too...not sure of what to buy next...but actually got a lot of things in mind lah haha...

I been holding back, wondering when will be the best time to send out message to V strom thread. My wee is going to be 1 month old. Need the "old bird" advice.

 

1) I have a H & B Main stand on my Wee. On my recent trip to Melaka last weekend, I realise that the sus is rather weak. Keeps scrapping on the hump. This is even after i adjust the knob on the sus to the max. This only happens when me and my main pillion is on the wee. Together we weight close to 200kg. I'm also thinking of having up side panniers as well in the near future.

 

Question: Does this ever happen to anyone? Will changing to aftermarket sus help me solve this problem??

 

2) Is there anyone out there use GPR exhaust on their wee? Is it lighter than the stock pipe?

 

3) Is it possible to have a belly pan with H & B main stand install?

 

Any suggestions/reply will be very most appreciated.

Hey Thanks mordecai1968. It's really rare to see a Vee or a Wee on the road. I saw one wee last sat at GP Petronas. Thought he was joining the ride as well. But I guess that guy just pumping petrol. But i'm a bit confuse with this:

 

1. Go to M tech they have the spec to chang the dog bone and raise the rear suspension ...$150 what is that?

 

The last time I check with them last week they advise me to change to wilber suspension for abt 900 the cheapest version.

Do you guys meet up for supper or tea? Where is the the v strom "port"? Its different when you read on the net and you saw another vee/wee by your own eyes. The bike is rare enough, ppl seems to stop and look around at me. Even when in NSH, cars seems to be moving away. Probably bacause of the healights. Lol

1. sw motech side racks (can fit givi or H&B). $350 (new $480)

2. renthal bars with crossbar specially ordered for vstrom ($80)

Wa seh... why must waste 150 when u can custom any length @ $50 only?

All pp like to go M Tech ganna carrot....

@ my shop can settle liao....

 

Longer the dog bone, the lower, so you need to shorten it.

Besides setting your preload higher, i think ur damping ( on the left side of ya bottom part of suspension) also change a bit tighter so ur rebound will not be that soft.

 

FYI for wee, once u have mainstand ur clearance already lowered....

Wah anodise... I didn't know you got shop.. I only know u a moto-v mod....So where is yr shop? I already set the preload higher higher but it still persist. Ya seems now my clearance is lowered is having main stand. But I prefer putting my back on main stand at certain times.

650 is very light compare to the 1000...but then again....i just dont have the strength to lift it up on the main stand...haha...

The Shop that I frequent.... >K & T accessories.. he does quite a handful of Suzukis.. .so boss knows what to do....

U always Kup Corner?

Wat type of riding style you having?

Always offroad of SG road?

 

For me mainstand has been always important.

I don kup corner, humps go slower, sometimes do Kok the mainstand but its ok la.... I can live with it.

Me with my gf also pretty heavy. I did change rear suspension though.. hahahha:angel:

alamak...paisey sia...u ask mafitra....i have been trying to lift his strom yesterday...and sadly really hard to make it...and that is just a 650 ....come 1000...thats y untill now i have my doubt on buying the mainstand...

Agree with anodise57. And u ppl just reminded me that i have this item lying somewhere at home - a used dogbone (raising link). It raises the rear of the bike by 1 inch. Used it on my previous Vee. It should fit a Wee as well.

 

PM me if interested. Price sure cheaper than any of the above. :)

 

If anyone is looking for OEM windshield or handlebar, I do have them as well.

2 more things:

 

Shorter dog bone = Higher the height + Bike more slanting when on side stand + Less energy to lift bike on main stand.

Shorter dog bone = Higher the height + Bike more slanting when on side stand + Less energy to lift bike on main stand.

 

 

 

and also the main stand may become useless if it's too short , by raising the clearence it could result in a 4 point contact on the ground..

 

dog bone try not to shorten anything more 16 mm

 

I had mine shorten at 23mm to have 3 extra inch of clearence and had to raise the mainstand by about the same so that my rears tyres can clear the ground :faint:

Wah... this dog bone thing is tricky sia... so is this thing recommended?

If it makes my bike a bit higher, i might be interested as well.
