lamak. yest i ride-clean-lube. but today my ride was super smooth.

does not pre-heating then lubing affect anything bad?

It is recommended to warm the chain up by riding around prior to lubing.

If this is not possible, lube the chain then leave the bike alone overnight prior to riding.

okey. usually i lube and leave overnight, cos think its better for the chains to absorb the lube.

i normally use kerosene and brush to clean my chain.. very easy and efficient. but one small glass bottle of kerosens now cost me $2.80 unlike last time $1.30, i have switched to an alternative. using either petrol or diesel to do the job.. but must be careful.. cheers

i see. so i suppose GT85 is more gentle compare to WD40.

cos currently using kerosene, but its veri troublesome as it would be dripping all over the place and swingarm.

When you cut the O ring.. the cross section will look like an O.

When you cut the X ring....you know the rest.

Whether its an O ring or X ring chain.. its just about the the cross sectional shape of the seal used to seal in the grease within the pins of the chain. The X shaped seals are supposed to be more effective in sealing in the grease which means less wear and tear for the pins which means less stretch and a longer chain life than those ordinary chains.

kerosene is more expensive than petrol(even v-power). the best bet is diesel for cleaning tasks

Do we still need to fill any form or can we just pump into a bottle and pay for it?

I have been using WD40 or RP7 to clean my bikes chain and sprockets with no ill effects at all. What i normally do is to apply WD40 on the chain and clean the chain and sprockets with an old t-shirt. after that ride for a short distance and apply chain lube or chain wax. The key point is to clean and lube your chain regularly. No point applyng chain lube all the time but dun clean the chain. make sure u tighter the chain regularly too when u feel it started to get loose. cheers
