kuala kangsar exit..correct...

security wise..betong is safe...

best hotel is the new tallest one :) but I prefer sri betong as everything is walking distance from there...if you need a tour guide PM me..my next trip will be the 5th of July on my way to Hatyai Bike Week..

Hi Razin, need some info from u, tks!

the new tall hotel beside the "tunnel", how much it cost a nite? Cos i'd always stayed at Grand View Hotel (due to the nice view in front :) which is abt 500Bt a nite.

whenever i go to Betong, i'll take Kuala Kangsar till Pengkalan Hulu (the Petronas Roundabout there), before turning into the small road to go towards "thailand", but along the way, i'll see alot of "Felda" turn-offs, which seems to be some back-roads which will eventually lead to Betong border too, am i right???

can explain what does FELDA means??? TKs!!

so u guys going to the Hatyai Bike week from Betong this July issit?? i did that road last year, passing by many military roadblocks, and never-ending corners, but think took me like 5 hours to get to Hatyai... :giddy:

Can you also enlighten us on the nightlife scene there? Still rows of joints along the 2 main streets?? Happening???

There is another area of concentration after the tunnel. Its along the streets opp a hotel having ah gogo pub. This hotel has a shop selling gold (strange??) in front and u will often c a malay n a young thai chinese inside. That malay is a bodyguard(carries gun) to the thai chinese. A lot of PRC there nowdays, heard them say Betong is safer than in Malaysia or Sgp.

yup so peaceful till i find it a bit dull cos at night not like hatyai got many ppl wandering around.

that new hotel I think is something call Mandarin right, not fully completed when i take a look inside (big, grand but not much ppl). Heard some unflatering comment from some old bird i encountered. The price is RM138. Sorry check with you what room rate u getting for Sri betong?

How i wish i have time like you can OTOT travel up Thailand.

:lovestruck:

FELDA is Federal Land Development Authority I think :)...you took the nerest road to the border but not the nicest...see my previous post on Grik-Baling NEW road...

Err.. I am going Hatyai Bike Week from Betong but no via Yala...I pan to do this on Baling-Pedu-Changloon back road (http://malaysianbikers.com.my/forum/index.php/topic,12237.0.html) tho I miss the Yala road 410 so much. You went to 3 Nation last year using this road? Me and the ang moi on the FJR did talked to you guys, remember? I am pretty sure one of the FJR is blue like yours...
