Well not say branded goods are not lasting la. Depends. But and LV sunglass hmmm. BTW TS your fren is wear only once in a blue moon or everyday? If its once in a blue moon then the glasses is more likely to spoil. Same ask bike. If you dun ride everyday it tends to give more prob. Like if you only ride once a year then you have to replace the batt and EO everytime you ride.

As for branded well you definately have to get the correct brand for the product. And for lacrimosae i can furture confirm that some brand specs cost only 2 bucks. My dad deal with specs for almost 50 years. :) So NPNT erm im sorry to say he is rite. And also his Aprilla dun cost US$10. :)

Why i say you have to get a correct brand for certain items. Like for LV it is famous for leather bags and its been proven that the ORIGINAL product is very lasting and the sewing is lasting too. So dun go LV to get something that is not leather or not a bag. Like TAG you go for the watch and not the specs. Like Oakley you DEFINATELY go for the specs. So TS your frens should have gotten a Oakley hahaha. As for LV sunglass is definately for the brand nia so dun expect it to last. But it is last only one year then LAN LAN sad for your fren.

yes, buy the correct brand for its expertise and reputation.

LV at taka has not so great service becos they hv many customers to serve. if you dont buy, they dont earn. they dont earn, they dont want to serve.

just like in car showroom. if they see you are just browsing and not buying, they wont be bothered.

anyhow write in as many suggested. dont underestimate the power of the pen.

i never buy LV from Taka, my LVs are from either raffles hotel gallery or Hilton Hotel gallery. that said, singapore service has never been great becos of our **** up attitude in general.

Perhaps she put it in her bag with many things and the plastic frame was under some pressure. Perhaps someone sat on it, perhaps this perhaps that, that is why very difficult to refund.

People who spends on top end products expect it to be perfect and lasts forever. Let's put it in a better way.

I spoke to the workshop manager of Stuttgart Auto who explains this phenomenon in detail. Customers come to his showroom and buy a $500K Porsche 911 and gets a blown headlamp 2 years later yell at his men for 'defective products'.

To the people in the industry, having a headlamp blown after 2 years is understandable and acceptable. But to the customer it is not. Especially in Singapore whereby arrogance and demand in the consumer behavior is nothing less than life in purgatory. 'Top end' products should be perfect even when obviously they are not.

Yet if the service provider is able to masterfully deal with the unpleasant incident, this serves as an opportunity to rebuild the worn bridge between consumer and sales. Well... sad to say, the customer has every right to hit the roof on any dissatisfaction. But the sales always have the ultimate right to entertain or to expel the case.

well.. customers are always right. Only if the right is reasonable. i always believe in this.

:sorry: but it really seems to me its due to negligence that the frame have cracked. maybe is not your friend, but she probably lend it to some1 and that some1 mishandled it.

just my 2 cents worth.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

I read your thread over and over again and the point is your friend's glasses snapped within one year of usage.

The warranty does not cover the damage according to the shop.

Question is :

Where's the warranty?

What did the warranty stated?

Was there a warranty period in the first place?

If the product is within the warranty period while you can showcause the snapping was not due to negligence (angle of snap, damaged areas to proof that it is not resultant from negligence etc.) and the warranty covers damage due to non-negligence, then you have all the right to go Louis Vuitton and claim for the product as it does not perform it's intended usage as promised. (broken due to non-negligence)

Unfortunately, if it's negative to the above three mentioned, you definitely ain't got no case.

Yes, the customer service is lousy, bad, appaling to some extent but are you of the intention to claim for product warranty or bad service manners?

If you do have a case, you should go all the way to Louis Vuitton worldwide (whatever?) and make your claim about their Singapore distributorship.

Case for that matter, Leatherman has 25 years warranty for damage due to non-negligence. Don't quote me on this but I had read forums whereby buyers had their tool replaced or reworked when it got damaged as such.

I'd like to recall Lacrimosae's respond here.

Louis Vuitton is never known for its service. Raffles Hotel yes. $10 quick snap barbershop in Peninsula Plaza yes.

Louis Vuitton is ONLY known for its leather quality and branding.

Main thing is, understand what is warrantable, what is not.

Is there a warranty or is there not.

Is the period still valid or is it not.

Can a bike forum do something... or can it not, for that matter [sic~]

Louis Vuitton sunglasses has warranty. if im not mistaken either 1 or 2 years. im sure if he/she is informed during the selling ceremony. and think about it, louis vuitton items are all genuinely handmade. something must have happened, probably unknowingly. so perhaps, you can try again to bring the item down, if the warranty is still valid though, explain the situation. give a chance to for the sa(s) to work on their flaws. i mean its not fair for em to be judged this way. plus louis vuitton is a big company. of course theres many channels to go to. u cant blame that. this is luxury brand. no offence though. hope you can get it repair.

I think I have to say this, but specs frame DO crack like this even if it never dropped before. I have been wearing specs for over 20 years and at least 3 pairs cracked at the same manner but at different frame locations. One of them is actually made of titanium.

Here some common traits I noted:

1. Each of them lasted over 2 years before the frame crack

2. They crack while I was cleaning my lens, which I did everyday

3. They show no sign of wear and tear - just suddenly crack

I believe they crack due it material fatique stress being max out over 2 years, especially during cleaning the lens, that's why I don't complain about them - they have served their part.

As for TS's case, less than 1 year it got crack is too fast. Long term usage will eventually damage the specs I agreed, but 1 year is too fast.
