I think all previous people upgraded to Class 2 liao ... so no more posting on this thread for a long time. Let's start again. :clapping:

Will get my friend to join this thread as well.

:btw: I downgraded from Class 2 FZ1 back to Super4 again. Cost cutting. :cheer:

Hi Super 4 riders

How is your experience with your super fours? Have any of you compared your Super 4 to the crop of new 400cc bikes from Honda ( CB400X, CB400F, CBR400)? These are made in Thailand but are otherwise very nice bikes.

I'm looking to buy a 2nd hand class 2A bike and am considering the CB400 Super Four or the CB400F. I like the sound of the Super Four engine (and its VTEC) but not very fond of its classic vintage look. The 400F looks more modern and nicer in my opinion, but the engine sounds like a tractor.

Any thoughts?

Bro, for looks, maybe you would go for the new series of CB400s. Have heard that the fuel consumption is also impressive. These are parallel twins and the exhaust sound as it is.

If you need a little more pull from the engine of the same capacity, Super Four is the choice and is just the hard-core machine that runs forever.

Good luck in your search.

Thanks bro for your inputs.

The other bike I am considering, the CB400F, is one of those new bikes launched by Honda 2 years ago, along with the CB400X and CBR400.

It's priced about 1K less than a CB400, and looks quite good too. The riding posture is also more upright, and is generally a very comfy bike to ride, has good low-end torque and 27km/l fuel efficiency. It is also relatively rare in Sg, which is a good thing I guess. But the parallel twin engine makes a po-po-po sound that I dislike, which is the only thing that is making me think twice. It's a tough choice between the 2.

This is how twins sound like. I'm afraid you just got to accept that. Do note that the CB400F, CBR400 and CB400X are also available from authorised dealer. However, the latest SF Revo is parallel imported because this is a bike for Japanese market only if I am correct.

I had tried both the SF Revo and the Twins (CB400X). I ended buying the SF Revo although it cost a little more. I think you may look a bit ah pek if you put a box (I never did.) Likewise I think you look the same even with the CB400F twins. But, I think it looks alright with the CB400X. I would even opt to add the panniers.

I eventually bought a Super 4 Revo. Got it used with a Yoshimura pipe, so it sounds and looks even better.

I was in the carpark the other day and a guy started up his CB400F, and the engine sounded like a tractor. It's a good bike but it sounded terrible. So glad I got the SF instead. The SF's throaty purring whining sound is music to my ears, and I love how the 4 cylinder engine revs so happily.
