Under such circumstances I doubt UEFA are going to relent.

Personally I feel this is absolutely dumb on UEFA's part. All the screaming about video evidence during a game, yet know they cannot overrule a decision based on video evidence after the game. What sense does it make? Defeats the purpose of having such technology in the first place.

I understand that this is to uphold the dignity and respect of referees. By in the UCL semis, both have proved imcompetant. Yet UEFA failed to implement any constructive changes. Such a shame.

if we can overturn a red card through video technology after the game then illegitimate goals can be overturned too and results can change after the game..i think video technology is a bad idea and should not be implement in football

no controversy, no interest in the game mah.

yeah i agreed..:thumb:

Ronaldo, United have agreed Real transfer - report

Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United have both signed agreements with Real Madrid regarding the Portuguese winger's transfer to the Spanish side, a newspaper reported Tuesday.

Under the agreements, Manchester will let the 2008 FIFA World Footballer of the Year go after July for a minimum of 80 million euros (109 million dollars), top-selling newspaper El Pais reported.

Former Real president Florentino Perez, who is expected to announce Thursday that he will stand in elections to head the club again, has already discussed the payment of the amount with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes, it added.

But Perez may ultimately decide instead to recruit AC Milan's Brazilian playmaker Kaka as "he is less expensive and this would allow him to recruit more players", the newspaper added.

Last month Ronaldo, who is under contract with United until 2012, said he was happy at Manchester when asked about persistent reports linking him with a move to Real.

Kaka, the 2007 FIFA World Footballer of the Year, has also said recently that he wants to stay at AC Milan.

Perez was president of Real between 2000 and 2006 when the team recruited top players like Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham.

Real is slated to hold elections for president in June and Perez tops polls of the club's preferences even though he has not yet said he will run.

hey red devils, just to voice out somethin bt the fletcher case: they have big screens in the stadiums and yet to do instant replays of such incidents like bad calls and etc..superb technologies, soo many camera man angled at different directions, still no use..idiots..justice done during the match is much2 better for uefa and the referees and also the whole game of football...aiya..why i keep hearing ppl saying barca sure win ah..the immortals isit? But actually i also feels 50-50 but got the feeling that man united will win with some luck..:) Cant wait for the finals and still awaiting how man united jersey will look like with theier new sponsors..

as for UNREAL MADRID..they are just another ordinary team to me now trying to do extra ordinary things using thier name and money..i think tottenham and even man city can defeat them anytime..useless bunch of players they have, think they are the best while in UNREAL MADRID..i pity casillas..he shud come to man united lah..beef up our rearguard more..ahaha

actually i prefer if we DONT use these techonology.. i love the controversial decisions, which will be a talking point and arguments all over the world.. the way managers walk up to pitchside and scream at the ref/4th ref, the way the crowd starts screaming when a handball in the penalty box is not given.. these are the things that make football alive and interesting.. if EVERY decision is reviewed and correctly given, the beautiful game will be a boring game..

yeah. but what if we lost the title (touch wood) due to that (not having the technology)?

Lets not be like them and count our chickens before they hatch. Even though some their (poo) fans are saying already its gone case liao. 4 more points to go!

Relax!

then all i can say is too bad.. remember, controversial decisions can be both good and bad for a team.. there's been times where united won in cases of bad refereeing..

technology will just destroy the soul of the game..

UNITED CLOSE IN ON DODO

Brazilian youngster Dodo looks set to join Manchester United after the Corinthians defender confirmed he is eagerly anticipating his switch to the Premier League.

The highly-rated centre-back has claimed he will join up with Sir Alex Ferguson's side next year, with reports suggesting that United will pay a fee of €6million (£5.4million) in February 2010.

"As there are already some Brazilians in England I suppose that I am going to get adapted easier," said Dodo.

"I have never played with the twins Fabio and Rafael, neither with Anderson, but it's good for me to have them near. Even Cristiano Ronaldo as he speaks in Portuguese.

"I started playing at Cruzeiro. I was eleven years old and played there for three years. Then I went to Corinthians where I am since 2007.

"I returned from being on duty with the under 17 national team and only had time to be with my parents for a few hours.

"I received the instructions to travel to England. I don't know how to speak in English but I am travelling with John and he is going to be my interpreter.

"The way in which I play is the typical Brazilian style, with technique and ability. I also get identified with European style so that mixture can be something very good for me.

"Every player dreams to play in the national team and then be transferred to a European team. I am doing that. Next year I will join the first team of Manchester United. I am going to play next to the best players of the world."

Dodo? What a name...I hope he's prepared to wait for at least a couple more seasons before becoming a regular starter, assuming he's good enough.

These Brazilians really got some unique ways with naming themselves.

Real Madrid is a team of the past. Credits to them for winning their titles but looking at the UCL, it's evident they are no longer as dominant. Their last 2 league titles were but due to Barca underperforming, not Real actually producing the goods. They can just remain as UCL candidates. Proceed beyond last 16? Looks far.

I will be looking forward to the Wigan match. And if they secure a win here and a draw with Arsenal, the "boys" will be looking at the "men" celebrating.

Aww.. How will old boy Silvestre feel? He barely just had enough games to qualify for a medal last year. This time round he will probably feel pretty barren.
