Messiah,

thanks for the advice, but I went to LAB to buy a dry cell battery, $28, and everything works fine again.

macerena,

Strange that you might say that in the 86 pages of posts that topic has never come up. Because it has.

Ok, it doesnt matter. Here's the lowdown -

Without filter: slightly more powerful, coz your engine doesnt have to work that hard to suck air in. but because no filter is in place, plenty of dirt will happily fly into your engine.

With filter: less power, but your engine breathes cleaner air.

That's all...

Today's DIY Session was quite good.

Siewsphone and Fibre turned up. The kite-flyers either forgot abt the DIY Session, or couldnt make it due to undisclosed reasons... hahaha. But its ok. There's plenty of Waterwetter left.

Siew cleaned his valve, fibre cleaned and polished his bike, I went to LAB to get a new battery.

Also, we changed our coolant to Waterwetter. Flushed out the green stuff and replaced it with the pink. So far, cant really feel any difference. I only noticed that it took a longer time for my temperature to climb to the idling 70 C.

Next DIY Session : Changing gear oil, and DIY overhaul (kidding!!) just changing oil...

Going to Siglap to meet some friends now. Will feedback on Waterwetter when I get home later.

Hang in there@!

Seeya all laterz. Ride hard; ride safe.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

Hi Guys,

my friend just bought a second hand RS125, 98 Model.

heard from my mechanic that the parts are very expensive and now he's worried about the maintenance cost.

What are the things that he should be looking out for? Does it work the same way as Japanese bikes, where he can get Chiong parts? Overall what is the maintenance like?

The problem is not you can afford it or not, is how are you going to make yourself able to afford it.

If your bike got scratch or crack, you can use this touch up paint to restore the color, and then if the scratch or crach too deep, u can use putty cover up first, and then use sandpaper to make it smooth before you apply the touch up paint on it.
