Lawrence - Chiang Mai was great. The downhills were amazing, but some of the climbs before the it were crazy. There was a day where we rode up for 4 to 5 hours consecutively (up to 2000m) and then it was pure downhill for 20km! Disc brakes were fully cooked at the 10km mark!

 

I will be at Pasir Gudang this Sunday, weather permitting. We can meet up somewhere and go together if you are interested. If not, I will catch u there. Anyone else from this thread interested? Wan? Or all are going to the NBW?

 

kwyjibo - u really manage to crack me up everytime i read ur posts. Its just so entertaining hearing how your life experiences revolves only around Aprilias.... You really should get around a bit more. Have a bit more variety. Maybe start posting in R6, or Ducati riders thread?

 

P.S. Hope the rider who fell is doing well and you did the right thing by helping him? That is probably something a reasonable person would do regardless of what bike he rides...

 

Just to give yo more fire power in future, i was overtaken by a Spark (or Kap Chai equivalent) during the last Pasir Gudang Track Day. In your books, it probably means Aprillias are now utterly useless and should be massively discounted at your nearest motortiam. In my opinion, it was a fun fun fun first time at the track and i hope to be doing it again this weekend (eventhough i am still likely to be overtaken by the Spark if he is around).

 

I must confess, i don't log in to this website much, but your threads are so funny that i log in just to hear what you can come up with next!! I sincerely hope you take life in general as seriously as you take your posts… At the end of the day, you and you alone are responsible for any decisions you make. No one can force you to make bad decisions, so best to do your research before you buy anything.

As for kickass downhills, I totally get you. 9 years ago, I once rode/pushed/hiked/b|tched all the way up this hill for 4.5hrs, for an 8-minute nailbiting, teeth-chattering downhill ride on which I hung on for dear life with white knuckles. Near the bottom we took a detour and launched off a blind lip, got about 2 seconds of air down a 4-ft drop, I busted my Rock Shox rear shock, blew out my rear tire, and broke my bearings in my headset. Did I mention my front 4" Marz shocks were leaking after that? THAT was awesome.

 

I also sprained my ankle and winced all the way back to my friend's home near Petaling Jaya (in the lorry). I've never done anything like that again.

 

As for track, yes, would be great to meet up and go together. I am unfamiliar with the route up to PG. Would appreciate you dropping me a PM with your contact, or an SMS, as I just packed my room up for painting and your namecard's somewhere in the boxes.

Thanks for replying and inspiring me to service my bicycles in the middle of the night. I'll seriously consider a cycling trip overseas with your group in future.

It's really encouraging to see more riders suiting up for the ride. Armoured jackets can keep you from getting more hurt than you would be without one.

i wore jacket on the way meetin them but during the convoy ride i remove it.too hot.later i regret it coz i got rashes on my arms haha..
