So, i got a question. I just serviced my bike a week ago. My meter gets stuck at 8500rpm, and it takes quite a distance to get to 9000. Any ideas why..? Bike feels very light before 8.5k, but after that, it's like my bike has asthma, so heavy. That's in the 3rd gears +++. When i shift, it's light again, but gets heavy around 8.5k. I don't know how to explain it thoroughly, but that's what i'm experiencing now. Can someone shed some light with regards to this matter..? I really have a splitting headache trying to understand her. :faint:

That dont answer the question.. Power valve clean or not? If clean then shouldnt have a problem like this. Tear her up and check the valve if you can. Like I keep telling the people here, I clean my valve every week be it hard riding or not. :)

Tkgne , ask you ah. you know when i pillion people(50-60kg), it's like my rpm gets stuck at 6k on the 6th gear and it will never increase , however when i'm alone also on the 6th gear , can go up to 10 and more.

why ah?

Valve not opening. Even your clean it, didn't install it properly, valve still will not open. Air valve need proper setting in tension.

Thanks TK. That might be the issue. Guess i gotta bring it back to the shop later this evening then. *sigh*

'Air' as in pneumatic.

The pneumatic valve, or the Rave 2 unit, does not require cables, a solenoid and CDI to operate.

It is bolted directly into the exhaust valve port, with a hole specially drilled into the cylinder block to allow combustion gases to push on a rubber bladder inside the RAVE 2 unit to open the power valve, hence the term 'pneumatic valve' - also dubbed 'air' valve by local mechanics. (It's driven by air and due to lack of vocabulary since most of these mechanics lack education)

Spring load is adjustable so it might need some tweaking to get the valve to operate effectively at the right pressure.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

Thank you for the detailed explanation bro. Now i know a bit more about it.

However i think i still need to go back to re-tune it.

So how was the trip? Hope u enjoyed and pampered yourself. Hehehe.. :thumb:
