Sweet.

I ran it in for about 20km after my rejet and plug change, felt the piston was handling the pressure well, and the conrod and bearings weren't too stiff, so I started high revving it. It's been pushing 12,000rpm ever since I clocked 50km.

This must be my shortest run-in ever. hahaha...

I think the electric water pump's biggest advantage is consistent cooling, even when idling or through slow traffic.

The usual disclaimer follows:

"Do as I say, not as I do."

Please run in your bikes below 8,000rpm for at least 800km before whacking it, because you may not know if something is starting to go wrong if you do not know your bike well enough, and you may not be able to accurately interpret the early signs of an emerging problem.

#%*^... so fast run in. Hahaha!! I got another 357km to go before finish. :)

But i'm running below 8k for now. Still some fear running in my head. Now paranoid abt every single funny noise or feel the bike produces. But hey, hope to achieve the 12k range soon! :cheer:

Maybe gonna get that pump after all. Heheh.. :p

It's unfortunate you are Muslim hence cannot try their awesome pork bak kwa, but now I have human bak kwa, tho not halal but should not be haram too?

Tom I peel out the patch on my knee let you sample for free ok?

haha.. human meat not haram but it doesnt mean one is allowed to be a cannibal.. no, Sir.. i wont wanna try your meat, in fear of killing u in the end.. U know we all need u.. hahahaha

hey.. there's this friend's friend who said he bought an 05 at M8H last year for $197/mth x 5years.. with $800 d/p. I find it ridiculously expensive.. bt the rider (i think he is trying to make himself feel better) said it's because he got a full system ginelli. I bought mine FIRST HAND at abt that price holy sh!t.. damn the carrot chopper.. anyhoos.. he now wants to sell it to my friend COI and he's got another 4yrs to go.. Which I has asked my friend to do her research because that shop wont allow owner transfer unless the buyer has his own refinance sorted.

And i did tell my friend it's ridiculously overpriced.. then again, i can't get her an alternative as other better alternative needs full cash or own refinance which she can't get due to some personal matters.. and i am not going to stand as a guarantor or what so ever due to my own personal issues.

What he said to convince the sale was the add-on aftermarket stuff and the way he had done the tail to make it look like an 06.. which i have no idea how he did that.. the bike looks much slimmer than any other Y2K model..

Yes, overpriced. But if she's bought it already, too bad.

I have a Y2K model for sale. It's getting a make-over at the workshop now. If she's still looking for a bike, installment is possible. She plans to upgrade to a Class 2A or Class 2 right?

I got the Long conrod from PJ. Trying it out... heh

Yes, could be that. I changed gear oil after 20km. The amount of metal fillings that came out with the oil was unbelievable.

I think my gear shifting is stiffer than normal cos I changed the friction plates to a new set and used the stiffer clutch springs. Hmm... that makes sense, but hard to tell unless i open the clutch up...

Deadline's approaching but I haven't gotten confirmation from PJ on the free shipping waiver for purchases over £1000.

While this means I won't be rushing to order by end of June, it does not mean those who are interested to order can be tardy and take their time.

I will be ordering in mid-July, and will update the post details.

Place your order requests and transfer the money before the deadline, and you'll all get your parts on time...

Cheers!

Lawrence, looks like that's good news.

Bloody PJ are damn smart. We have to spend big to get the free shipping. Haha. So now we only have to pay for GST when the stuff arrives.

Just a minor guide to ordering.

Anything below 250 pounds is 45 pounds for shipping. Above that becomes 105 pounds. Small items shipping starts fm 6.50 pounds if i'm not wrong.

When Angela lets u know the gaskets are in, then we can send the order. Their shipping is very fast. Within 2-3 days fm dispatch in UK, can reach SG.

Hi everyone, I have Aprilia Y2K year 2000 to sell. All stock with no modifications. It is a Y2K model with a new fairing and new paint (did it in Jan 2010) with Red Ducati color.

But unfortunately I fell last month on the left side so there are some scratches mainly on the front left side. The bike is beautiful and turns heads! The bike is well maintained and runs well but has no valve.

COE will expire soon in end of July 2010. As much as it breaks my hear to sell this wonderful bike, I have to sell it as I will be posted overseas in September and no one can maintain the bike at home. If I can't sell before the COE expires, I will renew it. Asking for $2,500 (before the renew COE).

Pls let me know if you are interested or you know anyone who is looking to buy. Appreciate fellow Aprilians if you can help! :)

Please contact me at 81001323 or [email protected]. Thanks!

I will place order once everyone has paid in full the cost price (and when parts become available)

Shipping costs and taxes will be calculated later after items arrive in SG, and will need to be paid upon collection of items.

There are a few other items currently out of stock. Please check the post for updates.

Anyone wants to try an adjustable main jet?

http://www.dellorto.co.uk/merchandise/products_details.asp?PartNo=53157&CategoryID=2&PartsectionID=33

Basically this allows for changing the main jet size without having to open the carb to manually change the jet.

You can simply alter the jet size using a remote adjuster cable...

Hmmm..... I think I'll try it out. Good for changing carburetion to suit our fast changing weather here in the tropics. You'll always be properly jetted!

Anyone else interested to get it?
