hi raden,

hope you won't mind our 'resident evil'; he's like that one :cheeky:

but, by the way, there is a kernel of truth in what he says: what's the point of comparing top speeds on a 2b bike? besides the top, of course you need to also consider how quickly you get there, and how smoothly one can handle the speeds; after all not all roads in the world are straight forever, and you would have to make a turn or two to get home, right?

to answer your question, i'd agree with the others, 170'ish to some unverified claims of up to 200 even.

what would you do with this number, anyway?

have not seen the video, but with tracks, one wonders if the straight was long enough for the bike to reach its top speed.

anyway, he was asking RS125 max speed, not max speed on that track...

and even me on my too-rich main jet can reach 160 (cough cough with downhill and tailwind cough cough). so i can imagine properly tuned RS can reach higher, given enough track.

I am sure there r some other ppl who can response to my Q much better than u.Here in the forum itself i sometime give my infor to whoever need it with a pleasant answer and with a good smile...Not like u....I think u must sit for ATTITUDE COURSE class...

heheeeeee...

:cheer:

Hmm.. sorry.. as like how everyone says, it's an online forum, and i can run my mouth as i see fit.. Frankly, i dont care how you answer questions, doesnt bother me... Not that, i'm unhelpful, but your same question every few months is irritating.. If top speed is so impt to you, dont bother with a RS125..

Btw, here's your pleasant answer...

Top speed i tried on my bike so far is 180km/h with Arrow.. BUt i doubt the 06 model can go much further

And here's a "good smile" to make it all much better

There ya go.. I'm not so bad am I???

Stop with the repeatedly pointless questions.. it's irritating..

PS Recommend me a good shrink, and i'll go if the tab's on you..

Eh... The track has quite afew bends.. no very very long straights to fully push the bike to reach its top speed..

Anyway, my bike can reach abt 140 quite fast.. 140-160, abit of time, 160-180... really gotta push it.. only done it once.. dont dare try it again.. hehe

How come of so many Aprilias..... onli Isa, Wacko, Spiderman, Lawerence n mine went for the longer distances...... Isa frequent Perling Johore- 25km, Spiderman n Lawerence...everywhere, Me go Perling or Kulai-40km, .......

Maybe it is time to organize Aprilias to go Kulai Makan seafood..... usually each one has to pay about RM30-40 for a good seafood meal. Also a good chance to clear more carbon n let ur engine feels more responsive after that.

I think its time to be more supportive of Dannis' efforts to organise trips. He has tried to organise trips to Kota Tinggi, but somehow response isnt that good.

Perhaps Dannis can arrange for trips further in the future, so that there is time to plan and allow interested parties to save up for the trip. Seems like there are riders out there who are not flash for cash at the moment.

Touring is fun, and safe, as long as there's proper planning, and good riding etiquette.

Cool! :cheer: Hmm, I wonder if it's enough to entice those less hardcore among us (like me). Hotel stay already not cheap.

Plus, I don't know if I want Sepang to show me how slow my bike really is. PG at least plays to my tiny bike's strengths.

i guess so man... but i just changed it like in nov last year? thats less than 6 mths man!! anyways coe is till 06/2010... u interested?? for u special price...

Its not about mileage, its how long its been sitting there, that matters.

Has the bike been ridden frequently?

A bike that's not ridden for more than 3 months will have:

- hardened seals and gaskets

- stiff, rusty chain

- sticky old oils

There are bike owners who claim they overhauled their bikes just before they stopped riding - for 1 yr.

I can assure you: Bikes not ridden for long periods need another overhaul.

Its not the mileage, its the down time that matters.

The oil drains to the bottom, the crankcase. The seals, gaskets, o-rings etc all becomes very dry and hard. They will crack and once you fire the engine up, the damage is extensive.

Tyres - brand new! used for 100km! But rubber has a shelf life of 2 years. Doesnt matter if its been used, or not at all. It will still harden.

Its not the mileage, its the down time that matters.

I would suggest you change the rusty chain, because no matter how much chainlube you put on now, it will never turn back the effects of time - corrosion and decay.

There is no chain on the face of this planet that does not require lubing. 'Less frequent lubing', yes. But not 'never needs lubing'.

I can't confirm the prices yet but definitely cheaper than $30. The more people we have the lesser we will need to pay. I need the total numbers of people first before I can give you guys an answer on how much you guys need to pay. So guys quickly update the list and give me the numbers.

my top is sadly 150.. and my sprocket ratio and size are2.35 and 40/17 (haven't check the front but the rear is stock, so i believe front is stock as well)

lawrence usin a slightly lower sprocket ratio, he only managed to clock 159..

changin my carb doesn't affects my top speed.. it only affects my acceleration and of course, the fuel consumption.. but if i go for a bigger carb, i can afford to go for lower sprocket ratio, which will in turns give me higher top speed..

but then again... i think i'll jus stick to the stock ratio for daily usage.. and will only change to bigger carb for track use.. having better acceleration is much more fun on the track..

Aprilia speedometers are quite accurate, and are the most accurate among the 2B bikes.

I was clocked by a Fazer 600 topping out at 160kph while touring in Mersing. While my analogue speedo reading was 165kph, my digital speedometer, made by Vetta, clocked 159kph.

My sproket ratio is 17 front, 39 rear.

Larger carb, higher air flow, better top end. But I would have to disagree on higher consumption too.

With my 38mm Keihin PWK Air Striker fitter, my consumption was 25km/l, I had insane pickup and a tremendous amount of torque whether 1/4 throttle, 1/2 throttle, or 3/4 throttle. Wide Open Throttle position was not too ideal as I got lazy and kept putting my jetting off for another day, so I didnt get to do it eventually.

But even with 25km/l, my spark plug says I was slightly rich. I never suffered any bogging anywhere, strangely.

The Keihin was ideal for me. But it worked best only with an open airbox, and prehaps a high-flow pod filter. I still prefer using a filtered airbox as it keeps muck out of the carb and engine. So, sadly, the Keihin has to go.

Again, it proves that big carbs and big jets does NOT necessarily mean higher fuel consumption. It just means your mechanic isnt the god you made him out to be.
