help needed regarding IU unit

Hi guys

 

The IU unit on my bike has stopped working suddenly. Where to get it checked? where can I buy a new one? and can i get a second hand IU unit?

Go to VICOM to get it checked. If the IU's warranty is still active the staff there will do an exchange FOC. If you need to buy a new IU you can also get it from VICOM but the 2nd hand ones are mostly sold at bike shops you can check with VICOM as well since you will most likely be there already.

If your IU unit is still under warranty(5 yrs), repairs or replacement will be free at Vicom. Brand-new IU unit around $150.

 

But if its warranty has expired, consider doing the repairs yourself(especially if it's only a broken wire) or at a workshop first before sending to Vicom for inspection. Some bike workshops may have a 2nd-hd unit available. If not, try bike scrapyards like Ah Ahn Trading(around $40).

 

If you intend to buy a 2nd-hd unit, no point going to Vicom and paying them $13 the 1st time for them to tell you that your unit cannot be repaired. And having you come back and paying another $13 the 2nd time to inspect and register after you have replaced it.

Warranty is still valid but no replacement can be done unless the IU is faulty.

Errr... My IU sprayed black since last year, is the warrently void?

 

The IU have been working ok so far, but Lan Lan, received a letter from LTA today that got Error.

 

WTF?!?!? Pass through 3 gantry that day, 2 deducted money, 1 cannot detect also asked me to go for inspection.

 

Do I have to remove the spray paint before inspection, if the IU is considered void when sprayed black?

hi bros, my iu unit was literally destroyed in a crash in pg. do u senior bros think i can get an exchange on this? the iu is totally gone so i cant even show the damages to viccom. mine iu is just 9 months old btw. =)

if it still in working condition, then keep it. but if you really want to solve the problem then the answer below would solve the problem.

today went to vivocity carpark and when i wanna exit the carpark, only then i realise no digit shown at all when i insert my cashcard.. luckily juz nw no need to pay anything.. the barrier juz lift up with no value charge..

ya i know damn ex. but also no choice. if you go under the erp gantry when it is active then it can't detect you IU then LTA would send you letter to go IU inspection. if you refuse to go they send you warning letters. if even after that never go, you get fine for not going for inspection.

IU can only be transfer to another bike, if the bike that the IU belong to is scrapped.

 

U need to bring along the bike, IU and with the scrap slip, in order to transfer in vicom.

 

Transfer can only be done in VICOM.
