any1 change the entire wire harness b4 for fjs 400? how much does it cost? and my bike is nearing 110k km. does it need a overhaul?

erm.. just curious, why do you need to replace the wiring harness?

overhaul wise, guess is not require. unless ur engine oil is not change or maintain it frequently. honda bikes are all build to last. just need to take good care of the engine oil and the engine will serve you good for at least 2 decades.

haha fyi, my mileage just exceed 200k and it still runs smooth and powerful.

i once open up all plastic of my swing and to my horror there is alot of cables being hook/tapped up to main cable and very untidy..

i usually do my own wiring and always make it a point to tidy them and srcure all connections..

 

i cant stand e sight of e cable running all over e place, i wanted to "kio" all those unwanted cable also hard to trace them wat is their purpose

 

last week went to choong he help me cut those unwanted cable (rear trunk side) and i only to find out my horn cant work after 4 days..

 

i've been thinking whether to change to SW-T or keep dis bike.. really 1 of the smoothest bike ever ridden. cant tink of any other bike to change as i stil prefer the ease of riding scooter..

* change front tyre & balancing

* change sparkies (not using iridium plugs this round)

* bleed & change brake fluid

* change seat damper/opener (compatible unit)

best to call BS for a first reference quote, then call the regular or popular authorised dealers such as M1, Looi's, BP, ASP, Mah, etc.

do note:

* BS said ABS models needs to be pre-ordered

* BS price is "fixed" as in no increase even if you intend to pay full cash... dunno whether they accept swiping the plastic

* most motortiams' OTR prices are quoted under certain conditions, e.g. must take min. loan amount over min. loan period, else need to top up

* some motortiam's OTR prices exclude some items (e.g. IU) while some "include" free gifts

* OTR price also depends on insurance, e.g. rider's age and type of coverage (comprehensive is recommended)

 

2nd hand SWT? depends on age and condition, and who you buy from... motortiams should be more expensive ba.

if interested, join our Thurs meetups and see if you can entice robin to sell you his SWT, he was considering sometime back

Anyregular tourer using similar set up?

 

- Bought from aliexpress for US$90 +- after reading the feedback from buyers the sound is really good

- Tested the sound myself ..good and loud enough if properly mounted near to ear (this is helmet and ur ear location dependent)

- ride test tomolo to cameron highland

- Can be pain in the a-s-s to mount and find the right placement

- got bracket with clip to helmet and a bracket for doubleside tape (I change to 3m outdoor doublesdie tape)

I had problem with the speakers pressing against my ears/temple with the full face helmet

cos theres not enough room, not so with the open face.

 

Tried on another fullface helmet its ok too...so its more like dependant of helmet

shape and cavity inside. No guarentee of a sure fit for all!

hey guys ...whats your take on this.

Drained out my final gear oil and was surprise its yellow color.

 

It was changed just a month ago with motul which is supposedly red in color.

The previous oil change (2month ago) was maxima which is also not this color

 

Does it mean the popular shop I went to did not do anything at all:lol:

The oil that came out was only about 230ml in the sunkist bottle

Suppose to be 320ml tio boh?

i itch hand lor,tot got time can try something new.plastic too old n brittle.it broke off when i try to pull the connection off the speedo.its the 12 pin plug but it only got 10 wires on it.

needed a picture so i can get to know which wire goes when.

clear leave to find trouble with bike.hahaha!
